Splatoon

That was obvious.

dammit ice i picked up on callie and marie during the splatoon direct a month ago how did you miss that and get crusty sean

I take ages to get those puns with names when it's split across multiple characters, especially when characters mostly don't share puns in that media.

It's like Kat and Ana, that took me ages to catch.

They also mention squids being eaten during the news, so...

okay but you can't have picked up on those two but miss "ammo knights" (ammonites) and "annie and moe" (anemone)

I finally got level 20. That was so long. I don't get how some people managed to get level 20 first day release.

Playing it a lot.

Ranked battles.

Specifically, winning them.

They weren't available at launch.

I thought he meant "first day release" metaphorically.

They were available after only a few days.

What's your playstyle? I find it's easy to rack up the points if you just play a splattershot-type and focus on laying ink, i.e don't just shoot in a straight line in front of yourself, don't waste time hiding in ink waiting for a chance to splat somebody no matter how tempting it may be on Arowana Mall, etc. It still took me two or three days to hit 20 though iirc.

I wouldn't recommend ranked if you're trying to get points considering it's mostly luck based "no johns" - me two years later, you get no points if your team loses so if you get a bad team you're fucked. In Turf War when that happens you're just down the 300 point bonus.

I use chargers and I mostly try to kill others. Though at some point I used Aerospray MG to level up fast.

The only problem is it's a charger and I hate those.

I use the Aerosprays because I'm original, but as soon as I hit Level 20 (haven't played the game in over a week; at level 19), I'm going to use the Rollers for the hell of it since I won't care about leveling up anymore.

Guys there's a weapon called the E-Liter 3K.

cool kids/squids use this weapon

That's what I use, so beautiful range. Can't wait for the one with a scope coming.

Here's a good look of all the on-disc weapons (including future weapons and specials)

We knew about tower control.

In Rainmaker, both teams compete
to snag the Rainmaker. Once you've got it, the goal is to
carry it into the other team's base!

So as soon as the battle begins,
grab that Rainmaker!

It's guarded by a shield, though,
so you'll need to bust it out first.

Once you snag it, head for the other
team's base. And be quick about it!

If you run out of time or get splatted,
the Rainmaker will be dropped. Its shield will also reactivate.

The Rainmaker is crazy heavy, so you
can't Super Jump while carrying it. Your teammates will have to
watch your back!

The Rainmaker can also shoot ink like
an Inkzooka, so you can clear a path!

The closer you get to the enemy
base while holding the Rainmaker, the lower your goal distance will drop.

If the battle ends without anyone
carrying the Rainmaker to the goal, the team with the lowest
goal distance will win!

This sounds awesome, but I wonder if this means this is the last new mode coming.

im fearful of the day we have to start paying for new splatoon stuff

edit: oh my fucking god i was playing splat zones and they were at 1, we were still at 100, and we turned it around and won
i was legit in tears at the end

i didn't know people actually played splat zones

that seems to be impossible

anyway i turned motion controls on a few days ago and now i can actually hit some people, which is nice

i tried to use the splatterscope though and i still can't hit anyone with that, i have no idea how people are good with chargers
