Guys I am still crying (from another thing, but still). I think I am too emotionally attatched to this comic.
That's so sweet of you. Seeing as I started this thinking it was gonna be a couple weeks of lulz battle, I'm still pretty blown away by this sort of reaction. Although any positive reaction at all is enough to make me a fully happy camper, really ^.^
Oh yes, I knew this comic would be gr8, but I underestimated its gr8ness.

Thanks!

amazing update btw, still can't believe you guys managed to tie in a cohesive backstory to this whole thing
And thanks! I've had lots of practice coming up with backstories for Mario - compared to that soup of muddled canonicity, this was a lot more straightfoward.

Also, I'm surprised no one else (or at least no one easily found with cursory Google searches) has come up with Mario using the end-level axe to behead Bowser instead of just cutting the rope to dump him into the provenly ineffective lava. It seems like a natural fit: everyone knows that beheading is the best way to kill otherwise immortal folks, be they Dragon-Koopas or scotsmen.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

I'm still hoping there's a twist in the plot, where Edo, Marowak and a car come flying through the wall and hit Mayor Mario.

That or because everyone knows that Porple is immortal :P

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

In the SNES version of Mario is Missing, Bowser was frozen and then shattered to pieces, but he was fine next time we saw him. I think that's harder to recover from than beheading.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

Yeah well I bet in real life Bowser's still out there somewhere but he wants to keep a low profile and not mess with Mario because decapitation really hurts.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

There's three versions of MIM!, and all of them have different takes on the Bowser confrontation, be it Weegee melting off his shell and tail with a single touch of his evil voodoo powers, or Bowser flying away and shattering like a burgled storefront window, or the revelation that it wasn't Bowser at all, just a normal Koopa who then explodes. Which is true? Who's to say... Maybe they're all misinterpretations, and the truth is somewhere in between...

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

Maybe it was a magical rainbow that defeated Bowser.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

Yes, but then DK demanded too much payment for a guest appearance approving the rainbow, so they had to use artistic liberties instead.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

I'm basically being Mr. Disagrees with anything he can at this point, but in the NES version the koopa doesn't explode (the wiki's wrong about this too, which I assume is the source you consulted). It just turns into the key to Mario's cell.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

Mario is Missing might be an alternate, doomed timeline in which the conclusion of the Mario storyline is not Luigi overcoming his fears and surpassing Mario, but Luigi giving in to the darkness in his heart and becoming Weegee, an entity of destruction.

Or it might be the final game chronologically. Luigi goes insane from neglect and an unchecked inferiority complex, snaps, and kills Bowser himself.

Either way, Weegee was able to take Bowser's life. Permanently.

I totally listed to both halves of History Repeating when I was working on this. Like, three times each, plus tonnes of non-Megas music, because these updates take freaking forever.

HR: Red is so rad. Gemini Noir is the best thing.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

Srsly. Every song is made of win (Blue too). I had Gemini's stuck in my head for hours on Sunday and I was not complaining.

Goddamn it. I fixed the page, anyway. That thing needs so much work, and also to be split into three. Eventually...

I have MIM! and MTM coming third last in my headcanon, followed by SMG2, then 1. Not including the DKCR games, which take place a while after everything else and stars a new DK. It's a very involved chronology.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

honestly best update i've seen yet

it's been awhile since i've been so heavily invested in a work of fiction. i can't wait to see where edo runs with this

Mario Is Murdering.

This story is the best thing Userpedia has met thus far.

I see the plottwist of Walkazo and Edofenrir teaming up or something coming.
Except for the fact that Walkazo is dead. Or I am pretty sure she is.

Re: "I heard you have a dragon problem?"

Black screen = no official confirmation.

Depends how this is being structured. If they want it like a film, then it'd only be in the climax and the previous side-chapter suggests more stuff is coming. If they want it like a soap, then characters can die whenever.

Well, you know, it's not just a black screen. There is clearly something else on that panel also.

Who really murdered Bowser? Will Walkazo and Edo find true happiness together? What is Edo's unknown evil twin scheming in the dark? And what is the secret ingredient in the cake? Find out next week!
