I think Nintendo and Ridley Scott should both work together to put out a full featured Super Mario Galaxy movie to promote Super Mario Galaxy 3 if it ever gets released. Is that a good idea. I mean Ridley Scott has directed many Sci-Fi movies so he should give SMG 1 and 2 a movie treatment.

Just because he's done sci-fi movies doesn't mean he's a good fit for a Super Mario Galaxy film.

I highly doubt there would ever be a SMG movie anyway.

It would be as bad as The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

No it wouldn't, it would use CGI just like in Sunshine's cutscenes. It will be better than those Japanese anime movies in the series.

Yeah, they already gave up on SMG. No more SMGs.

Actually, Miyamoto actually discussed that Nintendo may have plans for a Super Mario Galaxy 3.

I'm still waiting for a Super Mario Land adaptation by Stephen Sommers, personally.

mario tends to be a very light and kid-friendly series. scott's work strays more horror/thriller in tone.

mixing the two styles would be a disaster waiting to happen.

Besides, Nintendo never makes movies. And if the movie did come true (It won't) it would be rated PG.

Oh but they made that Japanese Animal Crossing Anime Movie.

I think he can tone it down a bit so that fits the Mario series a bit. Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are part of the Sci-Fi genre so it would work out. It's outer space for crying out loud.

Well, you kinda have a point, but I wouldnt really want it. It doesnt have the right feel to it.

Besides, who would want a Dino replacing Yoshi and a Koopa-dragon replacing Bowser?

no, he doesnt really have a point, the science fiction genre isnt that simple. no genre is. science fiction is a huge genre with lots of sub genres and themes, that Ridley Scott just isnt suited to bring to a Mario movie. Ridley Scott does horror. Mario isnt horror. You dont need to be edgy to make a Mario movie. If you're being serious about this, you'd be better off with JJ Abrams or Pendleton Ward, someone who has revamped old movies/series in the past and who actually do light hearted/actiony type stuff.

But nintendo isnt going to make a movie with any of those directors, so its academic anyways.
