Super Mario World/Super Mario Bros. (the title changes in the game) for the Genesis. It's basically Chip & Dale (NES) in terms of gameplay, and it's based on another bootleg called "Squirrel King" which had familiar characters from that game I mentioned.

Thought it looked Squirrel King-y. Some goofy fans headcanon'd back in the day that the Mario in that was actually a young version of fellow bootleg Mario Fortran from Dian Shi Ma Li (ie the one that was edited to make the "Grand Dad" one).

Sega's M&S horses looks like it's one of the Barbie sets
I like the Mario-fied horses better, it fits well alongside the Moo Moos.

Well, the M&S horses fit Amy Rose, if anything. Sonic games usually feature realistic looking animals, especially orcas and dolphins, so you can expect less cartoonish horses considering that half of the roster.
Of course, when it's only Mario involved, they can go with the Moo Moo like horses.
