Does Bowser really loves Peach or why when she is playable does he attack her? I know it has to do with the gameplay but no explanation is given like why Bowser was torturing his son in a Mario Party game.
 
Probably because he cares more about winning than he does her. Thats what I think.

As for jr it's because jr wanted to play hero.
 
I see Bowser as a selfish king who wants to beat Mario because he's a rival for Peach's heart. He kidnaps her just so Mario will come and he can get the chance to defeat him. But if need be, he will help Mario, especially if his ability to rule is threatened. But he wouldn't kill Mario even if he beat him, he'd probably lock him up or something (see: Super Princess Peach, he clearly overpowered Mario in that game and simply had him locked up. Also, in Paper Mario he beat Mario but just threw him out of the castle)

Bowser loves to get his way but he does have standards such as being disgusted by Count Bleck's intention of creating a world where nothing exists. Once the greater threat is gone, Bowser will go back to trying to beat Mario (see: Bowser's Inside Story) but he will go to great lengths to show off his ego and be a tough guy, and also does not want Peach to die. He held the ceiling up in SPM to A) show that he's tougher than O'Chunks and B) to make sure Peach isn't destroyed, because he's in love with her.

Also, Bowser loves to compete in more friendly competition with Mario and others, such as kart racing and sports. He's never invited to Mario Party because of his schemes against the Mushroom Kingdom so that is why he crashes the parties instead. Bowser Jr. and Kamek (and other Bowser minions) have been allowed in because they tricked Mario and Co into thinking they've reformed. Bowser doesn't do this because he enjoys crashing the parties instead. Bowser pays his minions to endure his attacks in those games. Mario Kart and Sports are hosted by someone unseen and unrelated to Mario and Co, so Mario doesn't get to decide whether Bowser is allowed in or not.

So basically Mario's rival who really doesn't need to be portrayed as a cruel merciless killer (though Galaxy and Dream Team pull this off really well) but instead is a staple of the series and a trouble maker.
 
An amusing idea but no. Bowser is evil because he loves being evil. He's done terrible things before and has showed no remorse for anything he's ever done and he despises Mario and would gladly kill him.

Any attempt at showing him to be not all that bad I just laugh off because I can easily point to other games where he is downright cruel and sadistic.
 
What is your favorite Bowser fight?

I like the one in New Super Mario Bros U because you get to ram the Junior Clown Car into him.

64, Galaxy, and 3D World are also awesome.

My least favorite is Sunshine. At least Galaxy 2 looked cool with badass music. With Sunshine, just a hot tub, and you don't even directly fight Bowser.

Well, not really. Hell, this is how Mario actually reacted when Bowser was in Wreck-It-Ralph and he isn't.

Bu-bu-bu-bu Bowser's in a movie, but...? Ooo... I... Gee, I don't mind. *whimpers and cries* No, no, it's okay, I want Bowser to be a star. If he's busy being a star, then he won't be kidnapping the princess quite so much-a.

I'd make that face too if I had to do platforming and I'd want to beat the crap out of Bowser without dying myself. But it wouldn't sum up my thoughts on Bowser. :fancy:
 
I think Mario just isn't the type of guy to hold a grudge, no matter what that person has done.

That's true. In fact, I think Bowser and Fawful are the only ones that bear some grudge.
 
Bowser it's mostly towards Mario, nobody else ever seems to get on his radar even though other people have ruined his plans as well.

Not as persistently as Mario.

Gee, you'd think Bowser would have low self-esteem since it's just humiliation after humiliation, being stopped by some pipsqueak plumber guy.
 
Well if spinoffs like BiS means anything he usually beats anyone else that isn't a main hero character
