Super Mario land 1 and 2 feel like such anomalies.

Such a shame Nintendo never did anything for Super Mario Land's 25th Anniversary. It being the first handheld Mario game is worth some celebration.
Because Nintendo don't give a shit unless it by Miyamoto.

I must vigorously express my strong disagreement with that er, "policy" because it's clearly bullshit.

Miyamoto deserves some respect for creating the franchise, but does he really need to be such an attention hog that he can't appreciate others' takes on the series?

Thats not really how the man thinks.

Except he's never said anything like that.

sorry, if you saw that from my twin, that was an accident...

I bet Fawfulthegreat is making assumptions based on what happened to Paper Mario

Probably. Miyamoto is a very eccentric man. Just listen to him in interviews or people talking about him in interviews and its obvious that his line of thinking isn't as simplistic as people try to make it out to be.

I know, but I'd like to think that whatever happened in Sticker Star isn't 100% Miyamoto's fault. It's Nintendo for agreeing with him and also never rebooting things like Super Mario Land and Mario & Wario.

I think whatever happened with that game is more complicated than what people make it out to be.

I also think its ridiculous that people drag his entire career down just because of one arguable mistake.

My point is that probably other people in Nintendo discuss about their game and eventually reach an agreement, not like an apparent dictator arrangement that Sticker Star haters are implying.

Yeah, its not like the man just walked in and stamped his evil foot down and forced poor IS to make the game the way it was. There was probably plenty of tea table discussions.

Miyamoto: so who are the new characters for mario kart
Nintendo employee: fawful and dimentio and count bleck
Miyamoto: no thats garbage we need frankenstein mario and dracula peach
Nintendo employee: ok i have to listen to you no matter what

I know thats a joke but I have actually seen people blame Miyamoto for Mario kart even though he has almost nothing to do with it.

Lol, chuckle chuckle snort! That sounds like a good idea, don't forget werewolf Wario!

You know super mario land's hard mode was actually somewhat difficult at first, but after a while it became predictably easy. Not that I mind I don't really play these games for challenge.

beat the game, then after the credits and the game goes back to the start screen just begin playing again and its hard mode. I figured this out by pure accident as the game never tells you this.
