What Nintendo 64 game would you like to see remade?

As much as I love Super Mario 64 DS, its graphics are arguably worse than the N64 version's (I for one, think it looks more blocky and the characters' hands have only one position whereas in the original Mario could open his hands and make the V sign for winning, etc)

Not to mention I really want a Wii U Super Mario game where you can collect stars and each level has multiple missions rather than the whole "NSMB...in 3D" thing. A Super Mario 64 remake would be better than nothing (not to mention I've never beaten Sunshine and probably never will after watching videos of Corona Mountain, so I likely wouldn't enjoy a remake of it as much unless they completely change it in which case it wouldn't really be a remake)

Took me 10 years to build up the courage to 101% complete DK64.

Aaaaand did it.

The worst part was (not spoilering because NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT FUCKING MIND WOULD GET IT OTHERWISE) the 10 Diddy bananas in Creepy Castle in that room with the numbered switches you have to headbutt. Do them in any order that isn't 1-2-3-4 to get said bananas.

No really, who the fuck designs a puzzle like that.

maybe they programmed it for you to hit it in 1-2-3-4 but they messed up and made you hit it in any other order

DK64 is the best candidate that is possible out of the games that are left seeing as a lot of classic, mario 64, both zelda games, star fox, goldeneye, even Diddy kong racing have all been remade. Most of rest are either impossible like banjo (at least on Nintendo platforms) or are outdated like Mario Kart 64 and Smash bros.

just noticed the dk64 discussion and thought I'd weigh in

I have a couple year old save that is 100% completed save the final boss

the only things that strike me as being hard were Jetpac (before I knew you could shoot lazers n shit), racing that bug in Angry Aztec and that fucker minigame where you're herding the beavers in the hole

but yeah, the start of the game is great, unlocking diddy and finding the red stuff in jungle japes is great

finding two more Kongs in the Aztec was cool

Chunky in the Factory was cool too

Hell, even going back to finish the old levels with the last three Kongs was fun

But once you got past the Grotto it wore off, and you realized it was just grinding the same levels 5 times

That's not to say it wasn't fun, but it did get obvious that 200 Golden Bananas wore the developers thin. The levels were nice and interesting and the Banjo Kazooie elements it had were nice (except for getting all those power ups and moves that did bugger all a level later, like the musical instruments, fuck off candy)

It would be cool having a super remastered version of Hideout Helm, that was a damn stressful place. The Factory was a super fun place too, reminded me of Grunty Industries which is probably my favourite Banjo Kazooie level, and seeing that in HD with sick upgraded audio would be the best.

If they remade it I just hope they would revamp some of the gameplay like they did in SM64 DS (hopefully not adding more characters though) like with the silver stars or whatever

Last thoughts on the game because I might as well finish this train:

Multiplayer doesnt work- I've tried many times just trying to get a two player thing going just to see what it's like and no buttons get past the character selection screens

The "GET OUT" guy with the crosshair was some scary shit- until you see what happens when the time runs out. You get shot, lose one slice of melon, he yells at you again and the timer resets

well, okay

it was a huge let down, I was expecting massive damage or the screen to ooze blood over a game over screen or something

I guess these could be things to fix in a remake, now that I look at them
