I'm just as annoyed when people pronounce "Marion" as "Mary-an", "Marionette" as "Mary-o-net", and a few other things, which leads them to pronounce "Mario" as "Mar-eeoh". I personally pronounce "Marion" as "Marr-ee-un" and "Marionette" as "Marr-ee-oh-net".

I also notice the small tonal accent in how some people pronounce Mario, especially the "ahr" part so it sounds like a tonal emphasis on the "ar" part.

I've never heard anyone unintentionally mispronounce Mario's name that way besides the commercial for Atari Mario Bros.

I get more annoyed when people pronounce Wario with "War" sounding like "chore" or "store". I pronounce it rhyming with "jar" and "car".

I've heard a player from a game promotion/presentation thing on Mario Party 10 pronounce Mario as Mary O, so that mispronunciation is probably more widespread than you think.

Hey, I pronounce Wario like that. :[ It's perfect for our fanfiction of "Waluigi's Wall and Wario's War". Or calling "Gears of War" to "Gears of Wario".

Well I think he's the best Mario villain at least. He's also my favourite fictional character ever but that doesn't make me biased or anything.

I just think he's great and I'd have no problem if he was the badguy of every Mario game from now till the end of time itself.

That "bad" guy also helped save the world at least two times and the universe at least once, not to say that he's an Hero of Light and a Star Child...
 
Which was entirely for selfish reasons. It's not like he had a change of heart, he went back to doing bad things immediately afterwards.

Yep, Bowser definitely is not a good guy, however he surely has interesting standards regarding badness if you consider that among his minions we also have this "bad" guy (that is also his son, by the way):
