post any random Mario thought on your mind

Does he wreck Boss Battles more easily than before?

Considering that the f-smash can deal as much as 50% damage when fully charged, my buffs to Giga Bowser should enable him to bring down the Intense difficulty bosses sooner than before.

Heck, even when uncharged, the f-smash's buffed knockback (32 BKB + 112 KBG) is not to be taken lightly.

The real question is whether or not he wrecks Boss Battles as easily as Lucas.

Giga Bowser can't flinch, so he can pretty much take any kind of attack that the bosses give him, unlike with Lucas. Of course, I used Fox to complete Intense difficulty Boss Battles, since the Blaster and Reflector can make Meta Ridley, Duon, and Rayquaza easier to deal with.

On a different note, been playing partners in time lately. I kinda want the shroobs to come back for another round.

They're underrated villains.

I like them because of how dehumanized, mindless wrecking machines they are. They have only one thing in their minds, destroying crap. No need for diplomacy or any other motivation.
Still, if I remember correctly, Partners in Time gave them a motivation - they needed a better planet to live in. But man, that invasion was really made in style, complete with systematic destruction of towns and relevant buildings, absorption of vim from Toads to fuel up their machines, the capture of all the Yoshis - possibly to turn them into Yoobs-like creatures - and even a victory ceremony at the Koopaseum! I wonder what the first message from the Princess Shroob was, though...

I think Paper Jam would've been a perfect opportunity to bring back the Shroobs, and even have them interact with their Paper counterparts, the X-Nauts.

No. That would just demote them to extras.

Also you do know there is nothing that says the X-Nauts are aliens right? It's never once mentioned in all TTYD. All we know about them is that they are a "secret society."

What if the Shroobs suck Vim from the Toad and part of this Vim is harnessed and converted into parasitic Cordyceps fungi, which they use to spray it all over Mushroom Kingdom and its non-Toad residents to mess up their brains and then have them covered in fungus? And once that process is completed, they inhabit Mushroom Kingdom and farm Toads for more Vim and ammunition.

I just figured they'd probably just come back in the present day and try to take over again with more improved tech led by a new leader that took over and organized them since the princess shroobs presumably were destroyed.

She's only in the background of the battle. Not the actual room when not in battle.

about the pronunciation of Mario's name: Americans seem to go with an ar sound as in car. this is incorrect. Italian people, shigeru Miyamoto and Mario himself pronounce it Mah-rio, like in cat, can, acid. I know this will get some criticism, but a bit of research reveals it to be true.

I've never heard anyone pronounce it "MÆ-ri-o", especially not Mario himself. I've only ever heard the usual "MA-ri-o" and sometimes "ME-ri-o".

Does anyone else come up with the things they'd say and the tricks they'd do if they were in Mario Kart?

I'd take out a small Wario and shotgun blast his head off if I did a trick.

I've been doing some more fun with the Brawl gecko codes, and was able to get the following to happen...

kpKuVfH.png

Look behind you, Bowser...

G52Bevx.png

Yup, a gigantic Pink Gold Peach has shown up, thanks to some code combinations that I implemented. I made Peach 6x bigger, but that's not all...

8zbLoKo.png

Another code is implemented as well, which lets her easily 1-hit KO every fighter who can receive knockback. This especially includes the fighters in Cruel Brawl, where all the aggressive Fighting Alloys are pretty much in over their heads against her; virtually nothing can withstand her attacks.

j3mhvhI.png

She can't 1-hit KO the bosses though, but another code makes it so that giant Peach is immune to knockback to almost any attack. She can still flinch from fixed knockback attacks and grabs, however, so a Bowser who commits suicide with Flying Slam can potentially KO her. But when I combine the knockback resistance with a code that turns fighters metal, even the fixed knockback attacks can't make the fighter budge; you'd basically be talking about a Metal Primid recreation, but far worse with the increased size.

Zwx8pte.png

This screenshot basically shows how big a 6x normal size Peach is when compared to one of the biggest bosses in the game, Petey Piranha; she outsizes most, if not all of the bosses.

As for the codes...
Code:
Powerful 6x Giant Fighter + Flinch Resistance (P1)
4A000000 90180F20
140000D8 40C00000
140000D0 00000001
140000CC 4479C000
E0000000 80008000

Metal Fighter (P1)
4A000000 90180F20
100000B3 00000010
E0000000 80008000

On a side note, the Pink Gold Peach hack uses the dark Peach model, which does not have metal materials. However, despite this, dark models can receive the benefits of a Metal Box.

I've made a CPU Wario really giant before. I mixed him in with overpowered PSAs of characters and man was it hilarious to see Aura Link use his Up Smash and Star KO Wario with one shot.

Here's some more interesting fun with the size modifier, but for Giga Bowser...

3UgTzlM.png

6x normal size + fully charged f-smash with the head + my Giga Bowser buffs = a mighty 251% damage blow.

Edit: And here's that same attack wiping out Intense difficulty Duon with a single blow.

That's the real Giga-Bowser right there.

On another note having finished Partners in Time and now playing Bowser's Inside Story, I must say punching things with Bowser never stops being satisfying.

I found out two mistakes in Mario games that were Miyamoto's fault from TV Tropes.
1.
[quote author=TV Tropes]The sequel to Galaxy was supposed to have a more developed story and expand upon Rosalina's history. However, Shigeru Miyamoto decided against the idea and wanted the game to focus more on the game play itself as Super Mario Bros. had done. This explains why
Rosalina only appears in the ending.
[/quote]
I don't see why they couldn't both have fun gameplay and have a developed story. After all, they did it with Galaxy 1. Furthermore, SMB was made in a time where games were not seen as a medium for a story and they really weren't technologically advanced enough to have them. Things have changed, so there's no reason to not have a story now.

2.
[quote author=TV Tropes]Infamously, Paper Mario: Sticker Star was originally closer in design to the first two games, boasting such things as a Chain Chomp partner, a crowned Monty Mole boss, and a unique card level. When Shigeru Miyamoto got involved, however, he declared the game was too similar to "the Gamecube game", forcing the developers to go in a different direction. The end result was a very polarizing game that is widely seen as the worst installment in the Paper Mario series, and tainted Miyamoto's reputation considerably among many fans.[/quote]
This is so ironic since people are always saying how Nintendo must have the philosophy of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and yet the one time that they do change the formula is the time where they arguably should have left it the same.

Of course, I don't mean to antagonize Miyamoto, but some of his ideas about games are rather questionable.

Just FYI, the guy who normally pushes for story elements in Mario (and was one of the people responsible for putting in Rosalina's backstory) actually agreed with Miyamoto for Galaxy 2.

And it's hardly questionable (at least for the platformers) to have a series not known for having worthwhile stories to not bother with elaborating on a story most people wouldn't give a shit about.

i dont think story elements are too important in platformers as they would be like in an rpg, but character interaction can be good even in platformers though, so maybe they could try that in the future?

But as of right now its best not to expect a story in not just mario platformers, but platformers in general.

Oh sure, character interaction is nice but I can still see how somebody would see how it's not all that important.

yeah its really all on perspective and what the genre is, so yeah i can see that.

I think Rosalina's Storybook in the first game pretty much explained everything you would need to know about her. How she met the Lumas, how she built the observatory, sad parts about her family, etc. I can't really think of anything else that would need touching on. What questions left unanswered are keeping you from fully enjoying her character?

well i guess how she reacts to other characters?

or maybe what she has done since she goes around the mario universe?

Seems she reacts with how I'd expect her to react if you ask me. General niceness and friendliness but putting on her serious face when the time calls for it.
