post any random Mario thought on your mind

What would it be like if Nintendo made a game like SM64 Chaos Edition where it's like a regular game but the level mechanics change randomly?

Well I do know whenever I bring up Bowser around someone who isn't familiar with video games, they usually think it's a dog's name.

I noticed this image in the article for the original arcade Donkey Kong:

According to everything I've read up to now, Mario was Jumpman in Donkey Kong and wasn't called Mario until Mario Bros. However this calls him Mario. Did he actually have that name as early as his debut appearance? Or was this particular flyer released later on?

Jumpman's name was changed to Mario during Donkey Kong Jr.'s development, so that promo was probably a bit later but before Jr. was released.

I remember the first cutscene of Super Mario Galaxy being pretty intense, especially at the latter part.

And I hope that realistic screaming at 5:01 gets reused in a later game because it's way too epic to be ignored like its current state.

Intense but in a way that doesn't push it.

Plus Bowser's spontaneous lightning powers amuse me

How about how he summons a giant goddamn U.F.O. that emits lasers and lifts Peach's castle into the sky?

Brings a tear to my eye and feelings in my heart.

I had this random discussion with a friend the other day while messing with Mario Maker.

So, you've got Bowser's Castle. Bowser and co. all live there. Mario usually platforms through there and it's generally the final test of skill the player faces.

Do you think Bowser has to platform across lava pits and fire bars to go to the kitchen and fix a sandwich or something?

I'm sure he has a button or something that turns off all the hazards in his castle or something like that.

Just like how a castle has a moat, you don't necessarily have to cross the moat to make a sandwich. The stuff you see in the castle are just security measures dialed up to ridiculousness. I don't think Mario has ever encountered Bowser's household stuff such as his kitchen or his living room, or at least it doesn't resemble the household stuff. The typical household stuff is probably in Bowser's throne room or very near it, and Bowser probably has a back door which can let him exit the castle more easily. Unfortunately, Mario has exploited this backdoor in Super Mario World.

Maybe Bowser doesn't actually live there, but he lives somewhere else to do the daily things and stuff.

the security button makes the most sense to me

I was wondering when I played the game, do we actually meet that U.F.O. again in the game?

no but you walk on a bunch of other ones

On a different note, been playing partners in time lately. I kinda want the shroobs to come back for another round.

I mean another invasion

I've tried out some gecko codes for Brawl, which enable me to use Giga Bowser and Wario-Man in almost any game mode, and I've been having a blast with a moveset hack that I worked on for Giga Bowser.

Basically, I recreated the edits that I made for Giga Bowser's Smash Wii U incarnation onto his Brawl incarnation. And as you can see here, even in Cruel Brawl (Giga Bowser's current damage is a big hint), Giga Bowser can send those Fighting Alloys packing with a fully charged f-smash with the head.

They're underrated villains.

I like them because of how dehumanized, mindless wrecking machines they are. They have only one thing in their minds, destroying crap. No need for diplomacy or any other motivation.
