Mario's Map

What does climate have to do with cardinal directions?
le funny the north is always cold and the south is always warm maymay

The similarities of climate between the NSMBU map and ML:PJ are something you should notice...

I completely understand the argument of climates, but logically it doesn't make sense for a couple of reasons, specifically pointing out the NSMBU map and Paper Jam maps, geographically. I admittedly don't know the context for either game because I've never played them, but Peach's Castle is in the upper-right in NSMBU, surrounded by, for the most part, all greenery with no water. Peach's Castle, meanwhile, on the Paper Jam map, is in the bottom-left almost completely surrounded by water.

There's just not enough consistency in any way, from what I'm seeing, to be able to properly create a map for the Mario universe. Until there's actually something from Nintendo themselves, there's not really much that can be said about the topic officially. There are so many scenarios where castles or waters or whatever are just planted there with no context and I don't think it's humanly possible to be able to pinpoint literally everything into one giant map.

Well I made my own map which I will use. So if you want to hate on me, go ahead.

The climate argument pretty much falls flat on its ass if you take games like SM3DL into account.

Like, if you can have desert levels, grass levels, underwater levels, and ice levels directly adjacent to each other, and realize that climates like "cookie" or "chocolate" exist, you come to the conclusion that this world's climate cannot possibly be dictated by anything that makes logical sense.

Really, it's probably dictated by some alien force completely outside our world's frame of reference. The argument "it's like this in our world, so it has to be the same for the Mario world" just doesn't work.

Nobody's seriously gonna hate on you for drawing your own mushroom world map, you know? You can do that, use your own logic to do it, it's all fine.

The reason why people are getting annoyed here is because you've been trying to push your idea as the one true way the Mario map HAS to be, and everyone else is wrong.

Like really, have your headcanon. That's totally fine. I have my own too. Just don't try to force your conjecture on other people as the truth.
