I have never liked that design for Bowser.

Considering that most of the main cast, while they put their own thing, did resemble their game selves to some extent, Yeah DiC Bowser definitely stands out like a sore throat. (Especially when the Koopalings and Yoshi came in the later seasons, Which looked even more like their game selves.)

To be more precise, in the SMB3 series he had blue hair, in the SMW series the hair were changed to green. This is why I mentioned the SMW series in the spoiler annd I used an artwork from SMW.

Don't worry, it wasn't a reply against you, but rather a consideration that at the time DiC wasn't really looking at fidelity with the artwork of the characters, resulting in some depictions that were rather similar to the sprites, with Bowser not necessarily being an exception, in this case if you look at the sprite you'll see what I mean:

Cheatsy was clearly based on the sprite, with the green color added later to match his SMB3 sprite (whose hair is colored green on the back side).

the actual version has Peach and Rosalina's roles swapped, Link is the Spitter (not Birdo) and Bowser Jr. is the Hunter (not Koops), Diddy Kong is the Jockey (not Lakitu) and Toadette is a survivor. The only Toad that's there is Captain Toad, and the infected are Koopas and Goombas.
