I wonder if New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe would even gain this type of traction if they didn't introduce the crown mushroom, because this is the biggest thing going for this game. Given that the feature is probably to make the game easier, I wish they added New Super Mario Bros. Wii in the package because that game would benefit from an easier character, for sure. Might even be similar to how New Funky Mode was the biggest draw for Switch's version of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.
