I didn't expect spectacular amiibo support either. Unlocking stamps sounds nice enough, met my expectations, I wasn't expecting, say, the Gold Mario giving Mario gold armor or Boo unlocking a playable Boo.

Except for that the fact that he contradicts nearly every post that memoryman makes. This one isn't as obvious as others, but I think it's referencing past posts of Memoryman expecting better amiibo content and Mcmadness saying otherwise. I think that people go too hard on memoryman since most of his recent posts are not overly complaining or being annoying. It seems that because of his bad posts, people are predisposed to be more critical of his posts even when the post in question is reasonable enough regardless of whether the opinions expressed in the post are ridiculous to the reader. For example, a post expressing hope that Daisy will be represented in a game does not need to be criticized while a post yelling at Nintendo for under-representing Daisy certainly has grounds for criticism.
 
Mcmadness doesn't have contrary opinions to rile up people on purpose. No one else thought that the amiibo would do anything special, I certainly didn't, and my reasonable expectations were spot on regarding which amiibo would be supported in the game. Anything other than that is superfluous to the game at worst, and to lament disappointment regarding anything more than characters in the game who have amiibo is grounds for scrutiny and readjusting your expectations.

I don't see why he's specifically singled out, considering I would have said the same thing to memoryman, that you set your expectations way too high.
 
Not sure if I'm wording it correctly, but I just want to chime in and say that I've been interpreting Mcmadness's posts as deadpan humor.
 
I basically live in a deadpan.

Anyway, back on topic. It amuses me how Minion Quest includes enemies that didn't exist yet back when this game was first released.
 
I like modernizing an older game like that. This includes enemy redesigns as well. Well, not all of them, I still miss aviator flight suit Koopas a bit, I think their outfit added a lot to the environment.
 
I'd imagine they just got lazy for that but whatever.

While it's perfectly legitimate to disagree with memoryman, I don't think it's fair to respond in the somewhat condescending tone often used towards him by both you and Macmadness when his post is reasonable (I'm not sure if condescending is the right word but I'm sure you know what I mean). In this particular case, Macmadness wasn't necessarily responding in that tone, but what he said can be interpreted as such, which I think is how LB interpreted it. What LB said is accurate concerning other posts that Macmadness and others have made before. I'm only singling out Macmadness because he is the one who LB was talking about, but it also extends to anybody who responds in the tone I'm referring to.

Furthermore, it's not anybody's place to tell memoryman how high to set his expectations; he's entitled to having unrealistic expectations just as he's entitled to his opinion. I don't see why anybody needs to judge his opinions or expectations as if he shouldn't have opinions that they think are ridiculous. The only time where someone needs to call out memoryman is when he's being overly angry or obnoxious, and having ridiculous opinions doesn't count as either thing by itself.

That's not really how they come off to most people though. That's one of the many problems with communicating through text.
 
even in gamefaqs no one talks about the game, but go in wars about super paper mario being crap and w/e
 
I really hope they give us some standalone new artwork, so far we've seen one new artwork of M&L together and of a group of Bowser's Minions, some slightly edited SSS GBA artwork for Mario, Luigi, Cackletta, Fawful, Popple, PIT artwork for E. Gadd, and BIS artwork for Bowser. Kinda wish we'd get some more new artwork along the lines of what's in the group images.
 
I'm glad the nose allergy issue is resolved in the remade artworks.
 
I never really liked the stupid striped socks too.
 
Still don't complete inderstand what amiibo do, I understand that they give you gear, but all the other details seem glossed over. I'll just have to find out later I guess.

@FTG64 I think the stamps aren't Miiverse related but rather more in line with stamps that you get with your passport, suiting the whole suitcase theme thing.

Also Psycho Kamek has been replaced by Dr. Toadley. Wonder how Anton feels rn.

wait really? Where was that shown? That's pretty odd, though Toadley kinda fits the role there was no reason do to that.
 
Why is he in the Beanbean Kingdom though? And wouldn't he be better suited to replace the Dr. Toad who diagnoses Mario?

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr, Yoshi and Toad are one time use amiibo in the main game and just unlock a stamp with recycled 2D art + some gear (not character specific ones). Boo and Goomba and Koopa Troopa do the same in the main game.

This + Rabbids have SUPER lame amiibo functionality.

This is like the fiftiest time in this topic you complained about amiibo functionality. And it appears it's literally the only goddamn thing about the game you talk about.
