I've said it before and I'll say it again: Anyone who complains about that line has not played OoT. Navi quietly interjecting with "hey" when you target an enemy is probably the least annoying part of the entire game.

Except that isn't the only time she does it. She constantly reminds you of what you're supposed to be doing (which is irritating when you know what you are supposed to be doing and are trying to get it done), and in the 3DS version, she'll add to this and recommend that you use a Sheikah Stone to get a hint, and she'll even tell you to take a break or that your batteries are low. I'm all for player-character interaction, but not when it involves nagging.

I've played through the game on the N64 3 or 4 times and I have never had her butt into gameplay telling me to do something. Sure, if I was supposed to be in the Gerudo Desert but I decided to dick around Lake Hylia for a half hour or so she'd chime in but then all you need to do is not press up-C.

She's so bad in OoT3D though, I won't deny that for a second.
