New Mario Kart game shown for Nintendo Switch 2

A brand new Mario Kart game has been shown off for the Nintendo Switch 2, not much is known right now including the name and release date

Honestly, I'd love if this new Mario Kart game had a mode where you just drive and admire the scenery around you. That desert highway sure looks like that at least!

I noticed a snowmobile vehicle, the new track is called Mario Bros. Circuit (b/c of the sign) and the railings aren't very prevalent on the sides of the track.

Clearly. they're keeping most main characters and babies except for Koopalings being unknown currently. I know all the veteran racers have supportors (especially kudos to Birdo, BJr and King Boo not being leftouts) but I'm curious, do Nintendo still leave enough room for new racers?

If we do at least ensure eight new racers for base game, that means the base roster is super big.

Not much was shown, it was a brief snippet during the reveal, and it's just footage with no sound or actual gameplay, and only one track shown. Looks like it's still very early in development and it looks like it takes a huge page from Mario Kart 8/Deluxe. In many ways, gives off the similar vibe to when Super Mario Odyssey was first shadow dropped and it looked like a 3D World clone.

I know I can't really be the judge of the game just yet because it's so early in development and things can be subject to drastically change but it looks like Mario Kart 8/Deluxe with a facelift, and some character re-designs...I guess? I like the idea of the Radiator Springs track for sure, and I'm far from the only one who has seen the comparisons (at least looks like an American drive-by small city which I like). I'm not a fan of having very wide roads once again and the shown off speed looks like the same, imo, sluggish gameplay in non200cc speeds (they better return 200cc). The only drastic gameplay change I've seen so far is the addition of racers, up to 24, but aside from that, there's really nothing inspiring so far.

But I want to commend the fact that they're revealing a considerable amount of characters off the bat, including Baby Luigi. Hell, all of the babies return, including Baby Rosalina. To be honest, they should do this, and they shouldn't cut any character from rosters, period, because every character has someone who adores them (yes my sister has met IRL Pink Gold Peach and Baby Rosalina fans) and it's absolutely devastating to see them cut, so kudos for that. I don't really see the Koopalings here, though, same Diddy Kong, hopefully they get to appear in this game.

I've already delivered my choice thoughts on the current state Mario Kart in this forum multiple times and what they could do to really spice things up this time to actually compete for my attention so I'm not going to repeat a lot points for what I want out of this new Mario Kart here but give me goddamn custom paintjobs already.

Nah it's the same one. It's a fun race track in the Cars 2 game.

@Ray Trace Oh ok they must have made a special arrangement with Disney for that then. Like how Nintendo made a special arrangement with Microsoft to get permission to feature Banjo and Kazooie in Smash Ultimate. I also remember Bowser and Donkey Kong making an appearance in one of the Skylanders games as well. It's really interesting and unique when companies do things like this.

Radiator Springs is based on a real place located within my state of Arizona
