This post reeks heavily of "my mother wrote this for me because she caught me on a mario forum, so now she's mad".

I decided, I /may/ still be active on the forums, I /may/ still watch MLP, but I'm going to try to stay from internet ponies, but that all depends if I'm going to get my laptop back from my parents.

Do I win a prize or something?
No, because it had do with ponies, not forums.

@Javvy I'm on my 3DS, so I'm not wasting my time with that.

While there are many bronies here, you can just ignore them. And what does religion have to do with this?

???
If my Dad found out about me being a brony he would just say 'Strange child...'

What I'm saying is, I'm getting too distracted by all this, I don't need to be addicted to ponies.
If only everyone on the forum thought like that.

I hope you realize how terrible your post is.

Nothing, he just got caught being way too obsessed with ponies and like Anton said, is being forced to leave by his parents because of his obsession.

Well if it's your parents restricting you, you should of told us your parents were those kind of parents before you decided to show them. We might have advised for you to keep it hidden. Because from the sounds of it they overreacted to you liking the show and got concerned enough to take the computer away from you.

It's really annoying to keep something you like as a secret. If I knew my Parents wouldn't want me following the show I wouldn't stand for it (Luckily my parents know and are perfectly fine with it. I wouldn't have got the Derpy shirt that I got a month ago if they didn't). But for some people they don't have that luxury because of how their parents were raised. Now that they know. it's too late to go back to the "Closet Brony" thing. If you want to continue checking Pony stuff I'd advise getting the nerve to negotiate something with them. Tell them that all this Pony stuff won't take control of your life. You can be so-called "obsessed" with something and be a christian.

If ponies is all I think about, that is my religion, that's why I need to stop. Also, I'm going to still be a brony, but I'm going to stay away from all the pony news, pics, videos, and music.

wat

O_O

I just needed a little time to digest that. But by the logic of something that you're always thinking about is your religion. Then how about we make churches for our favorite Foods, or the inanimate objects that we use daily. Or heck this is a Mario site right? We go to this site because we think about Mario stuff all the time. By that logic we should be posting "All hail Mario" or "All hail Yoshi" just because we like something that much. Thinking about things too much isn't the same as being in a religion or anything.

I think what he's implying is that whatever you attach the most value to is not supposed to be a TV show if you're a Christian, which is true as far as I've seen.

and family showed that it was true.

Guys, you do realize this is most likely something his parents implanted in his brain, not his own opinion, right? Telling him that he's wrong probably won't do much good at this point.

Too many christians believe they have to be ridiculously devoted in order to be true believers, and they forget that being christian just means honoring the teachings of Jesus Christ, which essentially boil down to "Don't be a dick to other people".

It's sad, really.

So, I guess I'm not going away, but I'll stay away from all the pony stuff except music, because good music is good music.

Well I just hope things get better. Sorry if any our posts seemed like we were attacking you. You must have your reasons if you must stop seeing something for a little bit. I'm just hoping your religious beliefs don't go too far in preventing you from enjoying what you like.

Moderation is the key here. The site is called Equestria Daily, not Equestria Hourly.

Well...this thread certainly took a peculiar turn.

Okay, no.

Even I didn't go that far. The most I'd like is for bronies to accept the fact that others have the right to not like the show.

Trying to get them to change their opinions is just wrong.

All I really care is that people accept that we like it and that there's nothing wrong with that.

So basically, in the last couple pages of this thread, people (I assume his parents) used religion to defend whatever they felt like.

Personally, I feel that people should be able to make their own decisions about religion (aside from joining cults). If you like MLP that much, why not? It makes you happy. Religion is supposed to make you happy. There was a Family Guy episode in which Peter made a "Church of the Fonz". It actually makes some really good points about religion.
