whats your pokemon party

I currently have a Serperior; however, I felt that Samurott served me a lot better. It had more power and was overall a better use for me. Serperior is rather lacking in the offenses; though it is very good with its defence (and a leech seed set up). Regardless, I liked Samurott more (in terms of design and stats).

Blaziken is leagues better than Emboar. You might want to look at Infernape, though; he's pretty good too.
Ok, i might transfer it over when I get the chance.

I erased my Platinum file last night and have Piplup as my starter.

No need to nuke all the pokemon.

Too bad, I just did.

Anyway, my party will be

Empoleon
Crobat
Houndoom

Other pokemon I'm considering:
Glaceon
Leafeon
Gallade
Hippowdon
Gliscor
Mamoswine
Electabuzz
Magnezone

Consider Jolteon, Javelin says he's awesome and I'd have to agree with him

Also consider the Gible family

I know. I've used Jolteon before and it's great. But i want to use Pokemon I've never used before.

And I tried using Gible last time, but it just took so long to evolve and I only got it to evolve into Gabite.

Well if you don't want to use Jolteon, use Vaporeon or Espeon, they're the best of the Eeveelutions along with Jolteon.

Also Houndoom is garbage, Magmortar is much better. If you can get the Magmarizer. It takes careful planning and a lot of patience to get it, trust me, but it's doable and nowhere near as hard as finding a shiny Pokemon.

I've underlined the ones that I've heard are good and bolded the ones that I have personally used and were great.

I agree about Vaporeon and Espeon, but like I said, I want to use Pokemon I've never used before. The only exception being Crobat and Mamoswine.

Wow, Houndoom's not good? It looked like it had good stats on Bulbapedia. Plus, being part Dark-Type, I thought it'd protect me from Lucien's psychic Pokemon.

As for Magmortar, I used Magmar last time and it was pretty good, but again, I want use new Pokemon, plus doesn't Magmar need to be traded to evolve into Magmortar?

As for my electric type, I'll use Electabuzz if I can't find a Magnemite. I hear it only appears via Swarm. But no worries.

Man, if there's one new feature Game Freak needs to add in Generation 6 is the option to fight the Gym Leaders in any order you want and the Gym Leaders can change their Pokemon's levels accordingly.

EDIT:

By the way, I was going to name my rival "Yoshiwa(l)ker" to retaliate for his avatars, personal text, and custom title. Too bad it was too long, so I just named my rival "Barry".

You should have just named him "Waker". Good idea though.

Also Houndoom is decent but not that great, he has slightly above average speed and Sp. Atk but it doesn't make up for his below average defenses. His moveset isn't anything spectacular either. You can use him, but he won't be that great. Magmortar is really the best Fire-type in Gen IV, but you won't use him, so...

Ohoho

@ Koopa Kid: Yeah, Staraptor is good, but I used it last time.

@ Dr. Javelin: It's not that I don't want to use Magmortar, it's I literally can't use him. Since I can't trade. (unless it's an in-game trade).

@Yoshiwaker: :P

If it would help:
This was my previous Platinum party.
1. Torterra
2. Staraptor
3. Luxuray
4. Gastrodon
5. Magmar
6. Giratina

Both can be normally found at Route 222, which is blocked for quite some time during the game. Magnemite also appears at the Fuego Ironworks.

The swarm thing only applies for Diamond and Pearl, according to Bulbapedia.

Really? I'm looking at the Fuego Ironworks page on Bulbapedia right now and it says Magnemite only appears via Swarm. But no big deal really. I mainly need an electric type to fight Crasher Wake.

I would use Infernape, except Roark's the first gym leader and he uses Rock-types remember? Last time I checked, fire's weak against rock.

But if you evolve Chimchar into Monferno before the gym battle (which I always do) then you're at an advantage.

That might take a while though. Then again, I always grind. I guess I'll just flip a coin. Heads for Piplup, tails for Chimchar.

EDIT: If I do choose Chimchar, I'm thinking about using these Pokemon.

In addition to the previously listed

Octillery
Yanmega
Umbreon

I started Pokemon Platnium today. Current party (currently training everyone)

Chimchar Lv. 12 (training)
Machop Lv. 14 (leaving party soon, got him only for the first gym)

Okay do you seek out the worst Pokemon in the game?

Kricketot is tied with Sunkern for the worst Pokemon out of all 600+. And Kricketune isn't much better.
Kricketot has lower base stats than Magikarp, commonly thought to be the weakest Pokémon.
