It is the year 2021 and I can play indie/fanmade sprite-based Smash Bros.-esque and Mario Kart-esque games online but I can't play official Smash Bros. or Mario Kart games online without paying.
Every single piece of software we need to use feels like it's gated behind some goddamn subscription.
Autodesk Maya? Could get a license for $6,000 before. Hefty? Sure. But this is nothing compared to the $1,700/year subscription they currently impose! WTF!? I rather lay tons of money for a software I know I'm going to keep, not do perpetual payments that are easy to lose track of.
These subscriptions are a freaking infestation on society. Mario Kart Tour is currently mired in TWO separate subscriptions, as if that game is even worth playing for free to begin with (it's not).
I bet the most paranoid parents think this forum is a community of not likeminded Mario fans that are young adults and teens, but weird, shady 46 year olds that draw stupid pictures about each other every August and laugh among themselves.
Crash and Rayman fans that want their characters playable in Smash can now find common ground in seeing how equally loathsome their "frat boy" publishers are AND their devs teams (Toys for Bob, Michel Ancel gone) are pretty fractured now.
While you're mourning for AlphaDream, be glad it doesn't have employees that install cameras under the sinks in the unisex bathrooms, pointing at the toilets.
Every time people spell loser as "looser" it makes losers sound like they have laxatives in them. It's kinda gross. So please feed your words a bit better, and they'll drop that extra o.
