  • I tasted coconut milk for the first time today, and to be honest, I'm really not a fan. Out of all the plant milks I've tried so far, this one's my least favourite.

I'm with you on that one. I once tried coconut milk myself, straight out of an actual coconut. And given the coconut had already aged plenty at the time I bought it, the same thing went for the milk, so that already gives me red flags for when I would be drinking milk out of a fresh coconut.

@Princess Zatanna I guess so, yeah. But I guess it's to be expected, because the coconuts are likely fresh when they first get exported to supermarkets, and once they actually get into supermarkets, they've lost their fresh and green hue and gotten brown and hairy.

Also happy 6th anniversary to DCSHG G2 since #SweetJustice premiered on IWD 2019!!
Hey Princess Zatanna want to see something hilarious? The YouTube channel "GameOverContinue" made a compilation of all the funny "Game Over" screens for Totally Spies on Game Boy Advance. Do you want me to send you them? You'll likely laugh if you like that sort of thing, but then again if you don't like seeing your favorite characters getting defeated even in a game you might not want to watch and that's ok.

    Sure thing, I'd be interested.

LOL here they are (sent the wrong link before; it was for the first game-those ones aren't nearly as funny):

Rest in peace to Gene Hackman and his wife and his dog. I always liked Gene's performance as Lex Luthor in Superman (1978) and its sequel, and I loved how they referenced him by name in Teen Titans Go to the Movies. I'm glad Gene got to live to a good age of 95 at least.

Yeah, it's really unfortunate that the three of them died so sudden and that Hollywood has lost a legend with Gene's passing. I do agree that reaching the age of 95 is quite the achievement though, and I hope that his legacy will continue to aspire future generations of actors, actresses, and other performers alike.
Hi friends, just wanted to give some updates to how my 22nd birthday went and also wanted to thank everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday today. I'm honoured to have received so many good wishes and I appreciate you folks all so much. I know I've said it before, but this community means a lot to me, and I really enjoy my friendships with you.

    So updates about my birthday:

    • For breakfast I had orange juice, oat latte, oat chocolate milk, and a Lotus Biscoff Bagel.
    • I rewatched "Happy Birthday Zee" for the second time which was quite fun, it's not quite my favourite Zatanna episode in DCSHG but it is still pretty good and it definitely fits today! I also submitted the song in it to Marioboards Year of Music which I'm glad I got to do on my birthday!
    • I did have an exam in the morning unfortunately, but I got 100% and didn't have any work after that, so that's great!
    • I watched TTG&DCSHG: Mayhem in the Multiverse which is now my new favourite movie of all time, see my post for more details.
    • For lunch I had homemade pizza with vegan cheese (Violife again, like my Christmas Pizza) it was actually a fair bit of work since I didn't have time for it to rise and also made dough for only 1 pizza whereas I usually do 2, so it was a bit of trial and error but it was delicious - if very filling - in the end!
    • I got a little bit bored/lonely in the afternoon because my parents and siblings weren't at home until the evening, but I did keep myself busy writing my glowing review of Mayhem in the Multiverse!
    • For afternoon snack I had an oat chocolate milkshake which tasted very nice and was excellent value at only £1.50 at the Co-Op
    • I rewatched Pinkie Pride for the first time in probably 1-2 years with my mother, which was lots of fun. I forgot how much I love this episode and its songs.
    • I also kept up my 4 year running tradition of rewatching the MLP "Happy Birthday to You" short, this time I also tried the German dub which was good too.
    • For dinner I had a steak (soy-protein based, don't worry I haven't given up being vegan!) and chips with brocolli. The steak was really delicious if expensive, easily the best steak I've had since going vegan and possibly even before.
    • My cake was a vegan chocolate cake which was delicious, and we had gluten-free muffins too so that nobody was left out.
    • My presents were:
      • I am Nut Okay high-end artisanal vegan cheeses based on cashew nuts, which I haven't eaten yet but am super excited too.
      • The Lego Movie 2 DVD which I saw on my 18th birthday on rent and haven't rewatched since, so it's great I can now rewatch it whenever I want and will definitely do so this weekend.
      • New shoes
      • A DCSHG comic book, unfortunately it is G1 not G2 I guess my family didn't understand the difference and that it's only G2 I'm a fan of, but I'm still looking forward to reading it and I may still enjoy it a lot, as I still haven't actually tried G1 before.
      • A new speaker for my PC.
    • As I now only have 1 hour left before my birthday ends, I will go get myself a hot chocolate and read Ever After High books until after midnight, then I'll go to sleep. But don't worry, I've taken Friday and the weekend off too, so the celebration shall go on!

Overall I'd say my 22nd birthday went amazingly and was my 2nd best birthday ever, but it doesn't quite beat my 18th on account of 1) having to sit a stressful exam even if it did go well in the end and 2) being bored/lonely in the afternoon before I got to spend time with family.

Good night everyone, and thank you all once again for making my 22nd birthday a happier day!
Hey Zatanna I don't know if I ever talked to you about this, but I was disappointed with "Lightyear" for one reason-they completely strayed from the original lore. Heck, bronies and pegasisters were beating up on MLP G5 for it "destroying" the lore and I honestly personally never cared much about that, but with "Lightyear", it disappointed me because since they set it in a completely different universe and didn't at all conform to the original story as talked about in Toy Story and Toy Story 2 and seen in the "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" series I grew up with, it just didn't feel like a Toy Story movie at all. With that, I was actually really disappointed the original lore was just thrown out the window, something that surprised even me (that I would be upset about that). Like, Buzz Lightyear decided to keep JUST his team as the one force defending the galaxy unlike in the original lore when he had a whole team of Space Rangers aboard the Star Command space station deployed all throughout the galaxy so it wasn't just him and his friends, and on top of that, Zurg wasn't Buzz Lightyear's evil father-he was just some villain that left his robotic suit and his robots and stuff floating in space aboard a sinister space station or a spaceship (I can't remember which), and the villain was a Space Ranger that turned bad instead and donned that armor. That-made no sense to me.

Hi Miles, I've seen Lightyear before and while I moderately enjoyed it I definitely respect and understand your opinion. I personally saw it as a non-canon spinoff to Toy Story so I wasn't hugely bothered by the inconsistencies in the lore as I saw it more as its own thing. But if it had been closer to the Toy Story movies I likely would've enjoyed it a lot more, yes. I don't think Zurg was ever *actually* Buzz's dad though, I just took that as a reference to Star Wars. It's been a few years since I saw Lightyear so my memory of it is a little rusty tbh.

@Zatanna If you have Disney+ you should definitely watch "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command". It's awesome. Believe me. Oh my God I grew up with that show! Love that show.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, and the Green Lantern one sounds especially interesting, but I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet since these may never be finished and released and even if they do there's a chance I might not like them even if they do involve two of my favourite heroines. I think I'll just have to "watch this space" - pun intended.
You know Zatanna, Generation Five is ok and all, but the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that all of the characters except Twilight and Cadance and Spike (because the three of them are species that live thousands of years) are dead, including Rainbow Dash who was my favorite G4 pony besides Twilight and Applejack. 😢🪦

Like seriously I wish Hasbro hadn't done that. It's so incredibly sad. I bet a lot of other fans are bummed out by that too. Luke Skywalker's reaction to Obi Wan Kenobi's death in A New Hope here is how I reacted personally to knowing most of the FIM characters were gone.

I guess Rainbow Dash and Rarity and Pinkie Pie and Applejack and Fluttershy are all watching over Equestria from Heaven now. ☁️ :(

@Zatanna You made a typo, I think you meant to say "G4" rather than "G5" and you also accidentally said "G6" instead of "G5" when G6 is the next gen after G5 that's coming up soon, but it's not like it matters. Yeah-death is unfortunately a part of life and it's painful but we always eventually get through it, although we will probably have a hole in our heart said lost persons would be the only ones who could fill it for the rest of our life. We'll move on and heal, but we'll still always miss those people. Nobody will ever be able to replace them.

But yeah anyway current gen right now is Gen 5 (G5)-Gen 6 (G6) is the generation that's coming up I think in 2026, actually. It looks like G6 is going to be a reboot of G4 which is great because I always like to see more G4, as much as I like G5 (despite its flaws). As far as almost all the characters from FIM being dead as of G5, I really wish Hasbro had just made G5 a separate generation rather than a continuation (many centuries later) of G4. Oh well.

Sorry yeah I muddled that up, will edit my post now.

Anyway yeah, I really wish Hasbro had made G5 a separate generation from G4 rather than connected to it because then we wouldn't have lost so many of the FIM characters we liked.
I saw these Peach and Luigi themed Pringles in my local supermarket (I live in the UK) which was cool to see, but for some reason they put lactose in them when the Salt and Vinegar (Peach) one would've been vegan if it weren't for that. So unfortunately, I can't have either of them. 🙁

Well, tonight's the last night of my very long and very lovely winter holidays. It's been wonderful to have time to relax and spend time with family, and enjoying lots of things I'm passionate about, such as reading my Ever After High books. I'm optimistic that I'm going to have a great time this term, living life to its fullest is so important and I'm so happy that that's what I'm doing now.
I finally played Mario & Luigi: Brothership last night. So far I'm enjoying it, but I'm still really early in the game so it is very difficult for me to say at this time how it compares to the first four M&L games. But it's already a lot more fun than Paper Jam, that's for sure.
Hi friends, here are some more exciting updates about my Christmas!:
    • I opened lots of great presents, of which the best by far were a collection of four Ever After High books: The Storybook of Legends, the Unfairest of Them All, Once Upon a Time, and Fairy's Got Talent (this is my first time reading any of the EAH books despite having been a royal fan of the show for almost 2 years), but other hexcellent gifts included:
      • Several vegan chocolates
      • Mario & Luigi: Brothership. I haven't played it yet because today's been too busy , but I definitely look forward to trying it tomorrow and will make a post about my thoughts on it.
      • A vegan Mediterranean cookbook, which looks royally useful
      • A strange book of poems and letters from my brother which I had never heard of and am kind of unsure about, but it does look kind of thought provoking so I'll give it a go.
      • A new set of pyjamas
      • Some skin care products
    • I had my first ever after vegan Christmas lunch. In the end I didn't really cook my own thing, I just bought a vegan mock turkey from the supermarket and heated it up, simple as that! Definitely a lot easier - and cheaper - than my parents and brother cooking a real turkey. I had that with usual vegetables - brussel sprouts, parsnips, carrots, and roast potatoes. I also had vegan gravy. I had some fizzy apple cider to drink with it - I chose that drink because Applejack brings some to prepare for the Fall Formal in Equestria Girls. I've never after tried it before but I somewhat like it - tastes pretty much like apple juice but alcoholic and carbonated.
    • I watched some DCSHG short episodes, some of which I haven't watched in about 3 and a half years so it was almost like watching them for the first time since I didn't remember them. That was a lot of fun.
    • I watched a ton of Ever After High, and as of today it is (I believe) now finally true to say that I have watched 100% of the content of the show including all webisodes and specials, until today there were a couple of webisodes that I hadn't seen even though I've been a fan of the show since early 2023. So I think it works nicely that today I finally completed the show, and today I finally get to start reading the books!
    • I played some board games with family.
    • I made pizzas in the evening! This is also my very first time trying the Violife vegan cheese, which I've been looking forward too as I've heard good things about it. It's a great cheese and definitely the best vegan cheese I've ever had, but I'll admit it still isn't quite as good as dairy cheese.
    • I watched a bit of the Great British Bake Off Christmas Special.
    • I decided I didn't want to wear my usual red leotard and white tights this year because they're too old / not warm or comfy enough, so I instead decided to wear a blue leotard that I got for Christmas a couple of years ago and I found that a lot more warm and comfy to wear. During the day I also wore my simple but nice red dress and some very comfy black tights.
    • I didn't have any family or friends other than my parents or siblings over today, but I am going to visit some friends and family in the next couple of weeks! I did call my maternal grandmother though, and I'm happy to report she's well, although she wasn't too fond to discover I'm vegan now.
All in all, this was a fairly busy but really lovely Christmas, probably the best I've had since 2021. Today's almost over for me (it's 11:47pm in the UK) but I'm definitely going to have a lot of fun in the rest of the 12 days of Christmas.

Here are some photos from today:

@Jackie Frost Glad you enjoyed your Christmas and all your presents. This year for Christmas I got Game and Watch Gallery 2 and 3 for Game Boy (already have Game and Watch Gallery 4 for GBA and just ordered the 1997 original FIRST Game and Watch Gallery for Game Boy so now I will have all of them) as well as a Super Mario 2025 wall calendar and Spyro 1-3 for PS1 because I have a PS2 I can play them on. I'm almost finished with Spyro the Dragon-I'm at the Beast Makers world so just one more world before facing off against Gnasty Gnorc. Wish me luck!
Just finished my yearly tradition of watching My Little Pony: Best Gift Ever on Christmas Eve and I enjoyed it a lot, but honestly I'd say maybe I overrated it a little bit when I gave it a 9/10. The songs are both really good though, that's for sure.

I'm headed to bed now as it's past 11pm in the UK and I always prefer to be asleep by midnight to let the Christmas magic do its work! It's very exciting - yet to be honest, very hard to believe - that tomorrow's Christmas Day already! Time really does fly. I'm definitely looking forward to an awesome Christmas season this year, and I hope you all have one too!

Before I go, I wanted to share some pictures of some Christmas Eve bakes I did today - a Shepherd's pie and an Apple Cider and Spiced Bundt cake. They're both vegan - the "lamb" in the pie is a soya-based meat substitute. I was extremely happy with how the Shepherd's pie turned out - especially considering that I've never done one before - but the Bundt was just ok to be honest.

Good night and Merry Christmas Eve everypony!

I had a great time going to the pantomime last night. It wasn't quite as good as previous years but it was still lots of fun, and I'll definitely go again next year! I usually get some ice cream during the interval, so this year I went for a sorbet instead and that was really nice, so it's good that I don't have to give up on that part of the tradition either!
