Wii U

I can convert my Wii to my Wii U, but I won't do that.
Reasons: Gamecube Controllers, Homebrew, Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 and 2, imported Wii games, etc.

I've pre-ordered my Wii U at 4 shops in Breda, and today during School, I've got Phoned by all of them, so I could choose whichever I've got, and I've got the one that sold the Wii U the cheapest.
Don't stare at me, all 3DS and Wii U prices are set by retailers, in Europe!

Again, I love the system transfer as no longer do I have to redo everything! However, I wish I could play my gamecube games on it...

Oh well, I still have my Gamecube!

Oh, I forgot to tell you...well, I had to give away my good Wii after I transferred it to my sister in college, and I felt so bad. I have my broken Wii, which does not play games anymore due to an issue in the disk slot that will not read any disks and rejects/troubleshoots them because of a broken ball bearing.

I'm gonna have to... rethink the placement of all my consoles once I get this. I don't have anymore room where I have them now.

I have willed all of my consoles into place in my room. There's not really much else I can do considering how crowded the house is at the moment.

also shaved $50 bucks off the premium pack today by trading in all the games I don't like

I didn't do the Transfer, but most of the time, you can control the Wii U without TV.
My Wii U can hardly pick my Router's signals, but the Wii U doesn't come with AV Cables, so I took my Console downstairs, Updated it via the GamePad, no TV required!

Question about transfer.

Do you need to switch the TV every now and then to check on both systems, or can the Gamepad be used for Wii U and the TV for Wii?
What you do is put an SD card in the Wii U, which prepares for the system transfer. Then you can turn the Wii U off and out the card in the Wii, where the data transfer happens. Then you finish up the transfer back on the Wii U. You don't need both systems on at the same time.

Okay. That works too.

Is there anything other than update that has to be done before I can play the wii u or is there anything that doesn't come with it that you need? Other than a wii remote of course.

Well you have to set up resolution and stuff but otherwise no.

If you want to use it on a SDTV, then you need the Wii's AC cables.

But it's a waste to use an AV Cable, and go on Wii's native resolution, while the Wii U is way more powerful than that.
Okay, I'm using an AV Cable on my PS3 as well, but that's only when I'm recording, as the PS3's HDMI Port blocks Capture Cards.

In that case, it's not a waste to use AV Cables then.

I've heard a lot of people complaining about 2 different types of bugs, on the Wii U.
It's either a freezing bug, or an Internet bug.
I know some people, that told me they've got their Wii U bricked, by just downloading a game from the eShop (read: Download, they weren't installing yet).
I don't have this problem, but I must configure my Wireless Connection manually, while these people with bricked Wii U's don't have that Wireless problem.
Yep, it sounds like we've got a not finalized product again.

My Wii U froze for the first time just now while playing ASRT.

I changed my Miiverse settings to English Only, hopefully this will reduce the chances of this happening again.

EDIT: It froze again in the Friends List. I'm guessing it has to do with the non-English languages, so I had to remove someone (not anyone from here) from my FL.

I don't understand, since Google translated it into crappy English. Is it saying you can use a PS2 controller to play the Wii U?

Essentially it lets you use the PS2 controller as a Wii Classic Controller, due to the similar button layout.

I have some PS2 controllers, but I'd rather use a classic controller.

I have no idea how Sony would react to this.
