same here. I hate why it does that

Considering that the first place racer finished the race, he/she is no longer active in the race. Therefore, any new Spiny Shells will target the next leading active racer.

Exactly. No one likes a completely useless item. If someone is way in the lead and has finished, wouldn't you at least like to grab second?

I saw the Spiny Shell overtake me and aim for the person ahead of me but they finished the race and it turned back and got me.

I hate this glitch in the game so that if the first place racer already passed the finish line and won the race, if you're in second place, the spiny shell will go after YOU instead. That's unfair. It also happens if both the first and second place people already passed the finish line.

It's not a glitch, it's intended and has been like that since Mario Kart Double Dash
It never really happened to me in Double Dash

I like to be the guy hitting people with items.

Not the other way around

I think everyone feels that way.
If your racing a Blue Shell hacker it is pretty much stay out of first until the end.

Spiny Shells stink so much

I love mah Stars better

I love it when an opponent drops a star and you're in first place. One time I got a golden mushroom and was able to get really far from everyone because everyone was cramped together like they are when you start a race.

You know what's better than dropping a star? Dropping a lightning bolt. Too bad it happens only in Mario Kart Double Dash where you can actually touch a lightning bolt in the ground to shrink all other racers

Stars are even harder to tell apart in Mario Kart Wii than in Mario Kart Double Dash. I love the random spawning of stars in Rainbow Road

It's tons more rare than the stars in Mario Kart Double Dash Rainbow Road

Me too. The CPUs suck at it too :)

I hate those stupid winding logs, though. I keep falling from them.

Because the winding logs screw up the handling

Easier said than done

Yeah, that works, and I do that, too, but I tend to use the most inner part of the track.
