So by that logic, you still watch this show, correct?
Only to be an informed hater :P

After viewing it a 2nd time my opinion has improved on the Season 3 opener.

My reasons arebas follows:

The Mane 6 were top notch in this episode. Twilight, Pinkie, and Rarity especially. Twilight is obvious, but Pinkie and Rarity were had the funniest parts.

Shining Armor is actually portrayed alot better then he was in Canterlot Wedding, a friend of mine on another forum even stated it seemed like in Crystal Empire he truly loved his wife in this one more so then the entire Wedding episode. And I can see some validity in that as much as I loved Canterlot Wedding.

While the conflict is rather ended a little fast, it's still all as a whole epic seeing Twilight race to get to the Crystal Heart before Sombra wrecks the place. And to be fair, Sombra was pretty close to getting the Crystal Heart. Until Shining denies him by throwing his wife, (Her wings were overall more important this episode then in Canterlot Wedding) which is just pure awesome by the way.

And Spike fans you know have to be happy he got to bask in some glory.

Also, the music is great. More so the background music in my honest opinion. Although both Prepared for This and the Crystal Faire songs are decent songs in their own right. But really, William Anderson did a fantastic job with the BGM especially during the scene Celestia is telling Twilight about the Crystal Empire in Part 1. And I can't wait to see what else he does for Season 3.

The animation also has improved even higher, and they certainly haven't stopped making some of the most amusing faces for alot of the characters. It's really getting to the point of "This was done in flash?!"

My last thing is the ominous hints to things we won't see until later in the Season. Luna's reaction, Celestia's words about the "next level, and the book Luna holds at the end are all subtle hints to something that's obviously going to be a big thing this Season. Which sounds like better continuty then Season 1 had with the build-up to the Grand Galloping Gala.

Overall, I love this episode. still not the absolute best. But then again it's full impact hasn't reached us yet. I have a feeling we won't really see everything this episode was about until Season 3 has ended.

Speaking of making something in Flash...

Personally, I thought the first song was... kind of unfitting.

I suppose so. The song itself is pretty on-par with most of the others. Much like B.B.B.F.F. though the actual sequence is better then the song just for the animation for me. Mainly the Mane flow on top of the castle + Twilight teleporting and doing tricks on the Lilypads.

EDIT: Oh my god. Yes. This is an awesome post from Phoe from Equestria Daily about the episode.

Say, did Shining ever get his horn rid of all that black shit?

When he was taking the Mane 6 back to the train to Canterlot, it showed him with a black-shit-free horn.

Just found out about this:

No Peewee or Angle? Maybe we just can't see them in that particular shot... but yeah, the idea of the CMC teaming up with the pets on a treasure hunt in the Crystal Kingdom just has me all giddy! X3

Edit: In the Gameloft game, I'm at a task where I have to open 5 treasure chests. Please send me some, I haven't been getting any lately...

Also, I used my iTunes money to by a large surplus of gems, and I played the gem balloon game, but this time, I realized you can pop an extra balloon with an additional 10 gems. I always assumed that meant to redo everything, but I guess I was wrong. Through it I FINALLY unlocked Snails, and with that, I felt I should buy Snips, but when I did, HOLY SHIT, Snips is freaking HUGE! I expected him to be CMC-sized, but he's like the size of a normal pony, and because he's on the pudgy side, he actually looks much bigger!

With all the bugs and completely nonfunctional game design, plus this (and Lyra's dark eyes), I feel that Gameloft needs an update/patch, ASAP. Which had me thinking... If this is anything like the Zynga games, which it is, they're bound to add new storylines and task so that people who've managed to complete the current story will keep playing, right? I wonder what they'll do next... Probably Discord.

Also, I'd like them to add some new ponies while they're at it. I'd like to see Pipsqueak, the Flower Trio (Daisy, Lily, and Rose), Donut Joe, Nurse Redheart, the Spa ponies (Aloe and Lotus), Flitter, Cloudchaser, Thunderlane, Berry Punch, and Minuette. Hey, if they can includ Luna's Royal Guard and freaking Fleetfoot from the Wonderbolts, I don't see why they can't/shouldn't.

There's 2 preview screenshots for Tomorrow's episodes (There's also 2 clips, but I can't see them right now anyway. So I might as well wait for the episode)

Holy fuck, I did not even realize that Saturday was tomorrow.

What a great fan.

Looking awesome. Only thing that annoys me is that
Her clock doesn't tick when she's not looking at it.

The episode is already up on Youtube due to Itunes updating early.

Personally, I thought it was pretty great.

Thoughts:

Well, as usual, Pinkie's comic relief took a backseat so the episode could focus on her. So we see her friends asking her to do two things at once, and she multiplies herself.

First of all, not much of a fan of the voice acting. Applejack's voice sounded kinda... Too deep. And sometimes Pinkie's voice is off. Then again, I'm probably imagining it.

Again, not really a fan of the moral... The episode just didn't seem to know where to go. Yeah, sometimes Pinkie has to choose what to do, but the episode didn't really make much of a point of that until the end so it didn't really feel natural.

That said, we've got Apple family members, Rainbow Shade, and Hasbro trolling us by having a Pinkie with fingers and a Pinkie with a G3 face (I think it was G3.) So the episode was decent, I guess, but not one of my favorites.

Decent episode, I can't say it was as entertaining overall as the two-parter. But it had some good visual gags that I liked

Not that I pay too much attention to the writers. But Dave Polsky returns with this episode, we haven't seen him write an episode since Over a Barrel.

The "watching paint dry test" was the best scene of the episode

That poor bird and frog that turned Part orange though.... lol

Yeah, as much as watching paint dry would be torture for me, I never knew that they would make watching people watching paint dry be torture too/
