Because you stated that you "don't claim to enjoy MLP".

If you still watch it, you're messed up in the head or lying.
You really think people only watch shows they like?
Yes, that is the entire point of watching television, to enjoy it.

Unless the show is purely educational, which is irrelevant considering that we are talking about MLP.
You've never watched a show you don't like

If I don't like a show, I've probably watched one or two episodes of it, but not two entire seasons.

I've watched maybe one episode of a show I don't like, but not two entire seasons.
I liked most of the first season but I hated the 2nd season

I have, so I never made time to watch it again.

Which was 26 episodes long. If you hated it, would you really watch all the episodes?

You'd be surprised how bored I get during the summer
EDIT: Also I made fun of it a lot

Everyone, what you're currently arguing about is called personal preference and should be respected, exactly like how opinions should be respected and such. In this case, we have somebody stating he watches a show he doesn't like and others asking him about this while not understanding that personal preference is something which is not universal; inversely, we have some people reacting to a personal preference which does not match theirs. Both sides are completely correct while being completely incorrect at the same time.

That was a summary of what has just happened.

And if stuff like that happens every time a new episode comes out, then that is not a good sign for this topic.

Also, I don't mean to mini-mod here, but does everyone in here know what an opinion is? Because if you don't, then you should definitely look it up sometime in the near future.

I just found it weird that Shoey was still watching this show. I just didn't understand and had to squeeze info out of him question by question.

Actually I remember why I did watch the show initially (I wanted to see if it was any good) then I remember making fun of it constantly some how getting addicted to it (this happens with me every so often i'll get addicted to things that aren't that good like Hamtaro) then watching all the episodes (except ones I skipped) then I didn't watch it at all (except a few episodes like a week later) then the 3rd season game out and the I saw it on TV Tropes dethroning moment of suck and I saw how good everybody said it was so I went to check it out and decided it was hilariously terrible.

If you don't like someone's opinions just try your best to ignore them. There's alot I disagree with Shoey about in this show (Actually there's alot of things other then this that I disagree with Shoey about). And while I get kinda annoyed with his nitpicks, it's his opinion. Shoey's practically known for this anyway.

SM i'm pretty sure the only thing we have in common is that we like Twilight

Now, if I see that somebody's opinion of something doesn't fit with my opinion on said something, I usually politely ask why they think like they do; and while I do that, I also do tend to state my own opinion on the matter. If both parts know how to have a civil conversation, such conversations can be some of the most interesting conversations you've ever had in your whole life, because people might raise questions you haven't asked yourself, see things you thought you knew everything about differently, and even reconsider your stand on the subject at hand. But, inversely, if the two people conversing cannot maintain a civil environment for the discussion at hand to take place in, those conversations will eventually spiral down into harsher and harsher arguments and counterarguments until one of the parts participating in the conversation will not be able to stand it anymore, therefore quitting the conversation, and no side gained anything at all from the experience.

Anyway, do I have anything on-topic to say? Yes, I do!

I do appreciate how the episode had all the Pinkie clones essentially be 1-Dimensional compared to the real Pinkie. How the Pinkie clones acted are what most would think Pinkie is like if they didn't know her enough, but the real Pinkie showed who she really is.

I completely agree with this.

(I admit the ignoring opinions probably wasn't exactly the best thing to say. Sorry RY)

How about we turn the whole argument from earlier into something a little more less stressful like listing off some of our own opinions. Whether it's popular or not.

I think Discord's a good villain. And is the best one in this show

Canterlot Wedding, Cutie Mark Chronicles, Hurricane Fluttershy and Lesson Zero are among the best episodes of the show

There's no character in the show better then any of the Main 6.

There's no such thing as a completely terrible episode of this show.

Sweetie Belle is best CMC

This Day Aria is best song

I love both seasons alot. But Season 2 was a vast improvement over Season 1

Is it me, or do I feel some deja vu going on about Shoey's argument?
Many of the times I've been involved in this topic have involved me arguing with people due to having a different opinion

Discord is a terrible villain only surpassed in terribleness by the newest one
The 2nd season was awful with very few decent episodes and even the ones that were decent were ruined by endings because they decided to have morals then executed them terribly
Pinkie Pie is the worst pony and Applejack is the 2nd worst pony
All of the two parters have been terrible
the episode at the ball was horrible mostly because of how predictable it was
Derpy Hooves is stupid
Rainbow Dash has the best pet
*Insert other unpopular opinions that I will probably post later
Lawman>MLP

No, I swear there was some user in this very thread a few months ago ranting about how bad MLP had gotten in recent episodes, and how they couldn't and wouldn't ever return to the greatness of the first season.

Oh yeah, that user was me.

Then we must team up and use logic and magic to ruin the hopes of every brony it is our destiny But don't tell anyone especially the bronies

Well, the only difference I can see between our opinions is that you seem to think the show nuked the fridge in "Return of Harmony" (the Season 2 premier); I say it was "A Canterlot Wedding" (the Season 2 finale).

Actually I thought Return of Harmony was bad but I didn't think the show was fucked at that point

I just don't see too much of the difference between the first two seasons other then of course Season 2 having improved the quality by quite a bit. I think both have their ups and downs and that whatever season had more of your favorites is going to be the best one in your opinion. Just because one (Or two) episodes were terrible in your opinion does not mean that the shark has been jumped.

I personally love Season 2 by a good margin over Season 1. But I can understand if there are those who preferred Season 1. I just think "Jumping the shark" finger pointing is jumping to conclusions too quickly.

Oh also, Filly Twilight will forever be the most adorable thing to come out of this show

*image* :3
I don't know, filly Rainbow Dash might be just a bit more adorable than filly Twilight Sparkle.

Also, not saying filly Twilight Sparkle isn't adorable or anything, but I just think that filly Rainbow Dash is the most adorable filly in the show.

Hm, how about a compromise?
