This was kind of my idea. Only difference here is that this guy thinks it was caused by some kind of spell cast by Sombra. I think it has something to do with the evil door we saw halfway through Part 2.

I'll copy this from Equestria Forums.

Everyone in Ponyville except for Derpy Hooves, Twilight Sparkle, and Diamond Tiara are actually real working robots with actual personalities. The technology for this is provided by that guy in Professor Layton (you know the one I'm talking about) who has accessed Equestria via Cave Johnson's multiverse technology (oh yeah, he's here too and is also a pony. For science.) Celestia is using these robots to set up Twilight in friendship situations so that she can learn more about the magic of friendship or give Celestia a good laugh (whichever comes first.) The exceptions are Diamond Tiara, who has been inane by these robots turning her into an obsessed Alpha Bitch (who is completely adorable) and Derpy Hooves, also driven insane.

Plausible in theory, except for a couple things.

If they're specifically designed to challenge Twilight's friendship, then how are episodes like "Stare Masters" and "Sisterhooves Social", where she barely appears at all, possible? And if they are, why are they fully scripted, acted, and worthy of air time?

Furthermore, we know from Curious Village that even the butler Ramon requires regular maintenance. With the kind of occupational hazards that dog Applejack, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, they'd need to be back in Bruno's shop constantly. Don't you think Twilight would get suspicious of their mysterious disappearances after a while? And would Cave need to keep the portal open 24/7? Where in Equestria would it be placed that's safe from Twilight?

There's just too many questions this door opens for me to confirm it.

Well, we know that Bruno's bots do what they want, right? They don't actually know that they're bots and think they're full-fledged beings. So, episodes like the Staremaster and Sisterhooves Social would still be plausible, as they have their own friendship problems. Why are they aired? Why not? Not everything in the show has to be part of the conspiracy.

As for maintenance, I mentioned Cave Johnson, didn't I? Ever see Portal bots in maintenance? Cave can make improvements to the bots to make them better. Also, we've seen quite a lot of episodes where someponies don't appear in, so that's when any possible changes to be made are made.

Why would Cave need to keep the portal open 24/7? Not that he can't, because it's a portal and those don't require any effort from the user to keep open. And we all know from Portal that Aperture is a giant underground facility - MILES underground, farther than somepony like Twilight could ever hope to find.
Man, conspiracy theories are fun.

I think I'm going to re watch all of season 1 and 2. Because I have no idea what people are talking about here and I don't feel like jumping into season 3 when I haven't looked at anything pony related for months.

Yeah... Um... Didn't really like it. There just wasn't too much to like beyond the CMC being all CMC-ish. Babe Seed got off Scott-free which really ticked me off. And the CMC had to pay for it. Didn't like that.

...Not quite sure what to think of this one. On one hand, the old-school music video was well-made (Ingram rarely disappoints, and I liked the reference to that concession stand cartoon), and some of the interactions between the Crusaders were pretty fun (like the initiation ceremony and the construction of the gold carriage). Pinkie driving the lettuce car (and then leaving the wheel to read) was also pretty funny.

On the other hand, this episode really came off as heavy-handed, as if it were just an anti-bullying PSA with ponies. The whole thing of Babs having been bullied herself was fairly obvious from the start (and introduced rather poorly), though with only 22 minutes to write a story I'll cut them some slack. And I'm not entirely sure how I feel that the Cutie Mark Crusaders technically planned to kill Babs Seed. Overall, fairly entertaining, but one of the weaker episodes. Other than Too Many Pinkie Pies, Season 3 has honestly not been on par with the past two seasons other than the animation.

This was a pretty good episode if I say so myself.

Sweetie Belle is still best CMC. She had the best lines in the episode "WHY DOES LIFE HAVE TO BE SO IRONIC?!". Though the episode in general was pretty cleverly written in general.

And the episode didn't feel as heavyhanded as most Bullying episodes in other shows. And after the episode, I actually kinda like Babs Seed.

Also the song was pretty catchy. And I hear it's styled like an 80's Music Video.

Also the A-Team theme song played when they were making the golden apple. That was a nice surprise.

I could probably say more, but I really liked this episode overall.

I have to admit, I can't really bring myself to hate Babs Seed...

I can.

Aaaaaaaand of course now that I've watched the full episode, I quite like her. In fact, I wouldn't mind seeing her again. Maybe if they ever make an episode where the CMC/Main 6/Both visit Manehattan, they could have her appear again.

I'm going to go ahead and say it.

If this was the first episode of the show someone ever saw, they'd probably think, "So it is just a little girl's show. What's so special about that?"

I might write a little more about this episode, but I just want to rant a little about one thing.

Despite how much the writers wanting you to forgive Babs, there's a big difference between her bullying and the crusaders' response: motive. While the CMC were honest victims acting as best they could in self-defense, Babs was being a complete jackass for completely no good reason, just to see some little kids cry.

I don't care how fucking sad your backstory is and how no one loves you and how you're abused back home and blah blah blah, you don't attack other foals. Ever. There's no fucking excuse. ESPECIALLY to your fucking COUSIN. And, you know, I might feel a little more sympathetic for her if she was just following Diamond Tiara's lead and "trusting" her popularity, but no, SHE WAS THE FUCKING AGGRESSOR. Not even fucking DIAMOND TIARA went as far as to physically and psychologically ABUSE the CMC until Babs showed up. And where is Applejack this whole fucking time? I mean, Babs is sleeping in Applebloom's fucking BED. I'm sure you'd notice if your little sister and her friends was being DRIVEN TO TEARS BY SOME BLOODY WANKER YOU BARELY KNOW.

Thank god the CMC at least tried to stand up to her, and didn't fall into the grief and despair so many children do when they're cornered by those willing to do anything to antagonize them. So they concoct a plan to get revenge on Babs. Okay, yeah, they're not excused either for their prank, but at least it's justified in the sense that it was, to them, their only option. And what do they do, right as their weeks of endless torture is about to be over? THEY PUSH BABS OUT OF THE FUCKING APPLE CART AND LAND IN THE PUDDLE THEMSELVES. What the HELL were they thinking? Finally, after who knows how long they've been tortured and humiliated and whatnot, they get a chance to show the bully what for and they BLOW it. I'm just fucking speechless right now. She's either ruined or stolen everything that made their lives worth living, joined their mortal enemies, and SHE suddenly deserves their RESPECT? Applejack, you've got to be the worst little trout-faced buffalo-diarrhea horribifuckus stupid-ass big sister ever.

What's worse, she doesn't get in trouble. Period. At all. Not even from Applejack. Let me repeat that: DURING THE COURSE OF AT LEAST TWO WEEKS, BABS SEED HAS MADE THREE YOUNG FILLIES' LIVES GODDAMN HELL, AND SHE GETS NO FUCKING RETRIBUTION. To me, that's fucking inexcusable. I don't give a fucking piece of horseshit how sorry she is and how wrong she believes her actions to be, she deserves fucking retribution.

I cannot bring myself to fucking forgive Babs for anything she did during this episode. I'm so mad right now after watching this I'm shaking as I type. If I were Applebloom, I'd tell that diarrhea-shaded wanker to get the fuck lost and don't fucking come back to Ponyville fucking ever. She deserves none of my respect for what she's done to the Crusaders. She's done nothing that proves to me that she's anything but a mindless antagonizer who does nothing but make other fillies' lives MISERABLE. She's a bad pony and she should FEEL bad.

The next episode will be the big Trixie returns episode. I'm quite interested to see what happens, even if this is the first time I actually have a little bit of worry before an episode airs.

Do we have a description yet?

Just this so far:

When Trixie makes her way back to Ponyville, as "Great and Powerful" as ever, she decides to prove her might once and for all by challenging and defeating Twilight Sparkle in a duel of magic, causing the latter pony to be exiled from the town.

Again, something has to have enhanced Trixie's magic. I will call total bullshit, if Trixie actually managed to gain the magic strength to beat Twilight honest-to-goodness in a Magic duel since we last saw her in early Season 1.

Also the exile I hope happens magically (Trixie teleporting her and what not). I don't see why Twilight would take a bet that forces her to walk away from what has been her home for a while now.

The best part for me no matter what though will probably be when Trixie gets her comeuppance at the end. Or whenever Twilight's going to show a real feat of magic. I suspect we'll see something similar or even bigger then the Ursa Minor taming

I don't see how any sane person can like Babs.

Well I for one liked her. So I guess I'm insane :V

By the way, SM, did you see the preview image I posted of Ponyville with Trixie?

Did the image have things like

Trixie statues hinting that Trixie takes over Ponyville?

If so, then yeah I've probably seen it. Though maybe you'd like to repost it in case someone else wants to see it.

Overall, I thought it was an alright episode, but I assume Babs is going to be one of those one-time appearance characters that plays a somewhat major role and then disappears forever, which is kind of disappointing because I kinda hoped that they could develop her character more, even though I didn't really like her. I kinda liked how the episode touched upon the subject of bullying since it's a major issue today, but I don't like how it was executed (Babs being a bully didn't get in trouble and was basically like "IM SORRY PLEASE FORGIVE ME EVEN THOUGH I MADE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL"). I don't know, it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible.

Also, I predict Trixie will be defeated by being turned into stone due to the magic (or she's just going to magically turn into pixels or smoke or something to signify she's been defeated). If that doesn't happen and the necklace simply "breaks or shatters" and Trixie's like "lol where am i", then I will be greatly disappointed.

My TV's acting weird, so I'm going to watch the episode on YouTube.. This'll be interesting, because I'll actually get to comment on the things as they happen! It'll almost be like I'm giving my own commentary.

The first minute is kind of ruined, since we already know who Babs Seed is and what she looks like, though I suppose for those who aren't spoiled by the promos and clips, it would make sense. Apple Bloom fussing over what to wear is awfully similar to Rarity, though...

Cindy Morrow... She's known for writing introspective character-driven stories. Makes sense, seeing as this will focus on Babs Seed and why she's a bully. Good choice, I must say.

I like Applejack's all plain-faced while the CMC are bouncing around! X3

OH, Sweetie Belle used a bit of magic! That's adorable! I wonder if she can use magic properly yet...

Geez, with a welcome like this, no wonder she'd feel overwhelmed and annoyed... Especially with them butting in before she can complete her sentences... Though she certainly seems nice enough. I also don't mind her voice. Yeah, it's a bit deep and masculine, but unlike a certain blonde-haired pegasus, I'd say it's appropriate. You can tell right away that she resents not having a cutie mark... Not unlike how Apple Bloom reacted when Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon made fun of her for it. Only unlike Apple Bloom, who'd rather avoid it all together, Babs Seed is confrontational about it. She don't take crap from nopony! ...At least that's what I assume...

That's so hilarious and cute, the CMC showing Babs around their clubhouse, and Sweetie Belle fake eating to show them where they eat their lunch! And they place where they "think of great ideas", funny stuff! But in a really cute way, like Winnie the Pooh, you know what I mean?

So this "Summer Harvest Parade". I didn't notice it much before, but I'm guessing this'll be important later on. I think that's a really impressive float they managed to create on their own.

I also like how shy and hesitant Babs Seed seems at first... It kind of makes me relate to her a bit... I'm usually quite and don't talk much, but then you start pushing my buttons... well, watch out... Only I do it on the obvious jerks, not to the people trying to be my friends.

Actually, isn't this oddly similar to Sweet & Elite? A pony trying to fit in with people who obviously you should NOT be associated with or suck up to, only to realize they're better off with the people (ponies) that actually care about them and like them for who they are? Then again, Rarity didn't try to fit in by hurting others.

...You know what's wrong with bullies on TV and movies? Their means of taunting others are so stupid and lame... "Lame-kin", really? That's the best you can come up with? Well, given that her special talent is that she has no actual talent, I wouldn't expect any less. OR MORE! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-

So yeah, Babs starts acting like a jerk... And yet I can't help but adore her design! That mane, I just love it! And her freckles, awesome!

But you know, I'd be more afraid of getting beaten up then being labeled a "snitch" (seriously, that's the BEST reason they could come up with the keep the CMC from talking?). Even still, I think it's a good idea to tell someone the way someone's been acting towards you. Regardless of their reasoning, behavior like this is just unacceptable... Yet you'd be surprised how often it just goes under the radar in schools across the nation (by which I mean the US, I can't really speak for Europe or anywhere else).

So, here's the song... Like I've said before, it has a very 80's feel... Hell, the way it's song feels, to me personally, very reminiscent of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Or in this case, the Chipettes. Only less sped up and squeaky. Hell, I have to say, compared to the other times they've sung songs, Apple bloom sounds a lot more chipper and is a better singer than before. Scootaloo, too. I can just smell all the remixes of this song, and I'm loving it already! XD

The CMC drinking milkshakes is so adorable!!! :D

This song also makes me hate DT & SS even more, getting such a kid out of seeing the CMC tormented. Like, screw them, and screw all character archetypes like them! It's like the only reason characters like them exist is so that we can hate them! No depth, no personality, just some bitches we can all hate, and I hate that! (hate-ception, lol)

That movie reel scene was pretty awesome, too. Those "let's all go to the lobby" character feel similar to the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends gang...

Oh that part where they brought back the "bump, sugar lump, whatever" thing... You can see Babs trying to fit in, but it's so obvious they don't really care about her...

Poor Sweetie Belle... :'( OH LOOK, IT'S HER DAD ON THE DOCKS!!!! Wait, is that where Sweetie Belle lives? Yeah, she lives with her parents, doesn't she? Maybe we'll get to see more of them here... Then again, maybe not.

Thing about fighting back, that's basically what you're encouraged to do. It kind of makes me mad. See, here on this forum, I've run into quite a few people, I won't name who, that treat bullying like no big deal, and say they never had a bullying problem, because they fought back. Well, I fought back once. I got detention, and the kid got off scot-free. To make matters worse, he still teased me, albeit slightly less so. Violence. Solves. NOTHING! Especially when you're not that good at fighting back to begin with.

Pinkie Pie Parasprite Polka music returns!

I think it's funny that the CMC are going "moo" when it's proven that cows can talk.

OMG, Golden Sweetie Belle!!!!!! X3

"Emergency edible boots"? W-wow...

Also, remember what I mentioned about how I fought back and the guy teasing me got off scot-free? This situation feels very, VERY similar to that. Since they never bothered to tell anyone they were being bullied, Babs Seed is going to be the one to look like a victim, while the CMC are going to be punished for humiliating her... This could only end badly... if their plan goes without a hitch.

This music is kind of similar to the music from Dragonshy, when the ponies are suiting up... They say is a similar melody to the A-Team music. I wouldn't know, I never watched the A-Team.

The CMC are cute when they're tired... Well, they're cute all the time, but you know what I mean.

Bon-Bon and Lyra hanging out together! Also, Pinkie's a jerk sometimes... Spike crawling off is actually kind of funny, in how animalistic he acts like.

ALL the floats look like fruits & vegetables, why would DT & SS make fun of the CMC's just for looking like a pumpkin? Come to think of it, why are they even living in Ponyville? Their "kind" is better suited to Canterlot... Although Filthy Rich seems like a decent enough stallion, questionable business tactics aside. He probably wouldn't live their anyway, given his name and... er-hem, appearance.

"Isn't it smashing?" She said that before, in The Sisterhooves Social, which I think Cindy Morrow also wrote... Incoming Nigel Thornberry gags!

Oh, so THAT'S what the mattress was for... I guess it was kind of obvious now that I think about it.

And the truth comes out. He who lives among monsters becomes one, as they say... Time for a guilt trip! This also makes me hate DT & SS even more, just for making her act like this for being so shallow and hateful for no reason. Isn't it ironic, the bully who's the focus of the episode is given sympathy when the two pre-existing bullies have none. It's like poetry... written by an idiot.

There's the mule again... Good thing he's so easy-going.

Wait, what's Pinkie doing in that green float... Wasn't a Time Turner look-alike riding it before? Or am I just confused?

lol, "Lettuce in"... But now's not a time for laughing. Although I can't help it when Pinkie's relaxing on a couch while the CMC drive through the crowd, ponies flying everywhere!

"PINKIE SALAD!!!" I don't know why she yelled that, but I LOVE it!

"Leaf me"... These puns just KILL me! For real...

Also, what in the hay are a bunch of pigs doing next to a pond? Really?

Oh hey, it's that colt from Ponyville Confidential! Looks like he's still the photographer!

"Why does life have to be so ironic?!" You're in a comedic TV show, that's why. I can see this becoming a major quote that Bronies use from now on.

I like how Sweetie Belle is mispronouncing words during the initiation. And Scootaloo's drum solo! Seriously, that initiation was classic! And Babs is so cute with a CMC cape! X3 And the way she keeps blowing her mane our of her eye.

Babs has a big sister? Perhaps we'll me her in that Apple Family Reunion episode coming later this season. And Braeburn. And Apple Fritter. There are some members of the Apple Family I just love to see again!

Come to think of it... just what ARE their mothers like? Just what does on at home to make them such unlikable fillies? I DID like how they actually looked scared for a moment, like THAT'S their one weak point. Also, mud. lol, Diamond Tiara pig! XD

"bad"... now there's a word that seems to change meaning quite a bit...

Okay, so, decent episode I suppose. Bully episodes are always so awkward to me, since most of them have the same kind of answer or ways to go about bullying, yet bullying is STILL a problem! Either way, at least the episode was alright. I liked Babs Seed, and the song was cute, too.

Here's my take on Trixie if shes not evil and it's only a necklace then I will be very upset if she is destroyed

Have an extended synopsis for the Scootaloo episode coming later

"Over a campfire, Rainbow Dash decides to share some imaginative and spooky tales, causing Scootaloo to have frightening, vivid nightmares; Scootaloo wants to get rid of her nightmares but doesn't want the others to think she is spineless."
