and the episodes I liked and Rarity and Twilight depending on the episode :P
EDIT: Also the only reason I think it's stupid is because I feel it's unnecessary

And here she is:
MLP-PRINCESS_510x317.jpg
she also totally has a baseball around her neck

Anyway, as long as Twilight stays the same character personality-wise that made me like her to begin with I'm fine with it.

Don't worry, the article basically had Meghan confirm that she'd stay the same. Alicorn Twi doesn't concern me about the show at all, I'm more concerned on the fanbase for the next few weeks or so after the episode airs. But I really do think eventually things will calm down enough that by the time the end of the year rolls by. Those still watching will sit back and laugh at how people overreacted to all this.

Or they will become angry trolls bitching about princess twilight sucks

I really don't care if she's a princess or not,and as far as fanbase wars go they can bitch about it to eachother to the end of time as far as i'm concerned

Eh. It all depends on how they execute it.
Yeah, exactly... Hell, even if I didn't like the idea, I'd still wait and see before I decry it.

...Actually, I have a theory of how it's going to go down:

Twilight becomes a princess by switching everypony's destinies, and she returns to normal when she creates her own magic fixing it.

that'd be nice, I guess, but doesn't exactly fit in with the whole "HER destiny" thing
Perhaps her destiny
isn't so much her becoming a princess, but learning that she truly is gifted at magic, so much so that she's able to create her own magic for other ponies to possible learn... I get a Starswirl the Bearded vibe when I hear "creating her own magic".

But if it isn't the big thing. Why would Hasbro suddenly hype it so much? It's quite frankly showing up in quite a bit of future merchandise. Definitely too much for a one episode switcheroo kind of thing. I don't see why they'd do that if she was only like that for one entire episode. Unless she decides after having them for a little while to wait on getting the wings until later on when she thinks she's truly ready.

Why would Hasbro hype it? To build up big ratings, of course. I don't think Hasbro building hype or marketing really means anything by this point. Besides,
I'd say understanding just how capable she is of not only performing but CREATING magic, I'd say that's a pretty big deal, and already fits perfectly with her special talent, so it fits... to me, anyway.

On a completely unrelated note, this showed up in my Youtube feed:

and then fluttershy was strider hiryu

Fluttershy should be Dan Hibiki. And I'm not just saying that because I hate her.

I just read the recap thing on TV Tropes.

Twilight becoming a princess? I don't watch the show often, but can someone explain how that makes sense? She's Celestias student/apprentice/whatever, right? I mean, I thought royalty was, you know, passed down through blood and everything. I mean, maybe it's not true at all, but it just sounds kinda random. And, if it's true, how are they supposed to explain it in one episode which seems pretty unrelated to it

Season 3 Episode 13
Magical Mystery Cure
Aired Date: February 16, 2013
Synopsis: When Twilight casts a spell that switches the Cutie Marks and destinies, the only way to reverse the spell is by writing her own magic.

I hate the idea of "Princess as role model". I mean, being a princess is something that is LITERALLY impossible for little girls. Plus, princesses don't do anything. It'd probably suck to be one in real life.

Princesses I think work differently in Equestria. There is no canon explanation for where the Princesses came from. This could possibly be that explanation. It burns a hell load of fanon that the Fandom has put up over the years but regardless this might mean Celestia, Luna, and/or Cadence were all normal Ponies before they came to power as Princesses. Or maybe Celestia and Luna are the original princesses who were indeed normal princesses and they choose a select few to become Princesses. We have no idea how Cadence came to being, and I doubt we ever will get an explanation but Twilight I think definitely has earned this. Princesses are Badasses in Equestria. They're not damsels in distress waiting to be saved by italian plumbers or a knight in shining armor. They're actually right there in charge as a defender of whatever they rule and pretty damn powerful too. Although Celestia and Luna haven't been a major part in saving Equestria in the show's canon history other then 1000 years ago or more that's even more proof of why Twilight's ascension is sort of legit. She's helped saved Equestria lately more then Celestia and Luna have combined and in terms of magic power she's already high above any other Pony could ever hope to be.

Twilight's also shown herself to be a great leader given her spot in the Elements of Harmony. And Winter Wrap-Up I think can come to mind how Twilight could organize and keep Equestria in control

And passed down through blood would be a bit difficult to really do. Because then who did Celestia or Luna marry? I know Cadence has Shining Armor of course. But if there was a royal bloodline. I'm sure we'd see signs of Celestia's son or daughter or something like that.

Didn't Celestia have that prince who was her nephew or something?

Anyway, Celestia and Luna are borderline gods in this universe. Cadence hasn't really done much other then 'using love powers'. And Twilight is basically the de-facto leader of Ponyville already. It's not like you need wings to be a ruler or whatever.

Unless the previous rulers died and they needed a reinstatement.....oh god that would be dark. Oh, well. They just never made the laws of the universe clear when it came to this stuff.
