So here is my review of Season 3. I'll put the whole thing in a spoiler, just in case not everyone who reads it has watched every show, which why they would read this in the first place would be a mystery.
For one thing, it was incredibly short. I didn't know unitl 3 weeks after the season finale that it was the season finale, which led me to believe, since it was a short season, that it may have been the series finale. Until it was confirmed for a season 4.

The season started out in two great episodes. The fact the Twilight failed her mission, I didn't really expect. Although she was getting really crazy about it. Celestia made it seem as it was life or death, which it kind of was, but it still Twilight really crazy. But Spike completed the mission, which was cool, since he's my favorite secondary character in the show.

The next one of notice was the Wonderbolt Academy, where Rainbow Dash finally gets the chance to implement her dream. Rainbow Dash may be a little bit of a jerk most of the times, but when it comes down to it, she always does what's right. Overall, the episode was a success.

The simultaneous episodes of Spike at your Service and Games Ponies Play were cool. Being a fan of dragons and Spike, I love all Spike related episodes. This one was good also. He was a fool to pet sit, especially when it includes Angel (hate that bunny), but I guess he'll do whatever for gems and cake, and most specifically gems. And then at Games Ponies Play was what the Mane Six did while Spike was pet sitting. That episode was hilarious, and kind of a blonde moment for all 6 of them.

Now here comes my favorite: Keep Calm and Flutter On. First, I love that title. It's the best title in maybe the whole series. Second: Discord! Why Celestia wanted Fluttershy to tame Discord, I honestly forgot, but I seriously think she is losing her mind. Discord: why go with one animal themed villain when it has them all? That episode, pure awesomeness.

And now, the season finale. Truthfully, I wasn't that impressed with the episode until the very end, where Twilight Sparkle turns into an Allicorn! My mind was blown that day. Although, I'm pretty sure Hasbro did that so they can sell allicorn Twilights and get millions of dollars. Who cares?

All in all, I just wished it would've been longer. The other 9 or so episodes I didn't mention were quality too, but the ones I mentioned were my favorite of the season. I'll be drooling eagerly wating for the next season, with Allicorn Twilight!

Go Bronies!

Glad to see you overall enjoyed it. My favorites of the season were Magic Duel, Sleepless in Ponyville, Wonderbolt Academy and Magical Mystery Cure. After rewatching it today though I think Keep Calm and Flutter On gets an honorable mention in my book. Also it was Just for Sidekicks that was the Spike episode that coincided with Games Ponies Play. Spike at your Service was the episode where Spike owes a life debt to Applejack. Which actually turned out to be my least favorite episode of the Season. But Just for Sidekicks, and Spike's role in Crystal Empire makes up for it.

Also maybe there's a little bit just to sell toys. But making Twilight and Alicorn does have it's promise in-universe of the show. To be honest the change made me more excited for Season 4. The fandom unfortunately is split about it. 50% Like it, while the other 50% either downright hate it or is concerned.

But yeah while Season 3 is short, it definitely had it's memorable moments. And I can't wait to see what a free Discord and the newly crowned Princess Twilight will do now.

Oops, yeah I got that episode wrong. I was just looking at the titles for a refresher, and I mixed them up. Fandoms are weird, especially when they are made up of people way outside of targeted demographics. Season 4 will be interesting. I actually have no idea where they will progress the story, but I call Discord and Queen Chrysalis team up.

I'm not so sure we'll have much with Chrysalis. Albeit there's official comic books where the first few issues have the Changelings kidnap the CMC and the Main 6 go after Chrysalis' hive to save them.

You never know. I thought Discord will never appear again, and I was wrong. Oh another thing, I predict the CMC will finally get their cutie marks. Or, they will get their cutie marks on the last season. I mean, their talents are so obviously it's funny.

Yeah I think after Twi becoming a Princess. Anything's possible now to happen mid-season. Including the CMC getting their Cutie Marks. And the CMC have carried some pretty good episodes when they weren't trying to get their Cutie Marks. (Ex: Sisterhooves Social, Sleepless in Ponyville) so it's not like them getting their Cutie Mark would break their character.

Also back on AliTwi, whether it was Executive Meddling or not. It sure as hell fit in better then Shining Armor and Cadence (And I liked them and Canterlot Wedding. But I'll admit they came out of nowhere)

You got that right on both points. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

why was Cadence even an Alicorn

She was going to be a Unicorn but something changed during the development. So she was made an Alicorn instead.

It did serve one good purpose though. It probably paved the way for the Celestia toys to be actually white. Because otherwise having both a pink Celestia and pink Cadence would be confusing for little girls.

Also it brought up an interesting Fridge Brilliance moment. You know how Celestia and Luna are sisters and they're the Princesses of the Sun and Moon?

Well Cadence and Twilight are sisters too. Sisters-by-law (Since Cadence married Twilight's brother), but sisters nonetheless. Cadence has territory over Romantic Love. And Twilight's is Magic, which if you take the title of the show into account. She's also the Princess of Friendship. Cadence and Twilight are the Princesses of Love & Friendship, both have shown to be powerful resources in the world of Equestria. Friendship making Rainbow beams that returned Luna to Normal, and turned Discord back to Stone (Up until Keep Calm and Flutter On at least) and Love exiling Chrysalis from Canterlot.

yes yes yes this this this

Double post but I thought I'd mention I continued doing my episode comparisons. But have decided to stop posting them here. But I'll at least say I finished Round 1 and posting here what I chose.

The episodes in gold won their matchups (And got 1 point for their season)
The episodes in silver got 2nd place (Gives 0.5 points to their season)
And the episodes with no change to them got last. (Gives no points to a season) Also below it is a current score

The episodes in Gold get to advance to Round 2 to face the episodes that won. Most of the episodes here are the ones that lost.

ROUND 1
Friendship is Magic, Part 1 Vs. Suited for Success Vs. Crystal Empire, Part 1
Friendship is Magic, Part 2 Vs. Feeling Pinkie Keen Vs. Crystal Empire, Part 2
Ticket Master Vs. Sonic Rainboom Vs. Too Many Pinkie Pies
Stare Master Vs. Luna Eclipsed Vs. One Bad Apple
Griffon the Brush-Off Vs. A Friend in Deed Vs. Magic Duel
Boast Busters Vs. Putting Your Hoof Down Vs. Sleepless in Ponyville
Green Isn't Your Color Vs. May the Best Pet Win Vs. Wonderbolt Academy
Mysterious Mare-Do-Well Vs. Dragon Quest Vs. Apple Family Reunion
A Bird in a Hoof Vs. Sweet and Elite Vs. Spike at your Service
Swarm of the Century Vs. Ponyville Confidential Vs. Keep Calm and Flutter On
Owl's Well That Ends Well Vs. Hearth's Warming Eve Vs. Just for Sidekicks
Call of the Cutie Vs. Party of One Vs. Games Ponies Play
Fall Weather Friends Vs. Best Night Ever Vs. Magical Mystery Cure

CURRENT SCORE AFTER ROUND 1

Season 1: 6.5
Season 2: 4.5
Season 3: 8.5

In Round 2 there will be 12 Season 1 episodes, 21 Season 2 Episodes, and the 6 Season 3 Episodes to get to. Season 3 quite frankly has a distinctive disadvantage attributed to the number of episodes. It's very doubtful Season 3 will win despite what seems to be a good start in Round 1 this but it may contend for 2nd place depending how things go.

So anyone remember that massive 40-minute review of A Canterlot Wedding, with Anthony C and BronyCurious? Well, they're back to tell us how it could have been fixed! And DigiBrony's here to help out!

Gosh, that song annoyed me with the auto-tune effect being so obvious. The analysis though, is all awesome!

I SERIOUSLY hope Meghan McCarthy watches these videos. I feel like a LITTLE more thought would make her writing so much better.

Throughout all of August there was a poll on the Hub website that was a Favorite Pony poll between the Mane 6. And yesterday the results were revealed.

The winner was...
Fluttershy

1229962_545200632195690_562968535_n.png

I pretty much knew it was either between her, Twilight, or Rainbow but yeaah... I know a few people here who aren't going to be pleased.

Too bad we'll probably never know the full vote count.

Regarding this post I put on the Mindless Junk thread I wonder if the poll in this very thread we currently have kind of reflects how the results went. Because in this one Fluttershy is also the most favorite (Even if's quite close between her and Rainbow in this case). But maybe Rainbow was the closest behind, and Twilight behind them. While Pinkie and Rarity both are pretty popular, within the fanbase I don't see them picked as a favorite as often as Twilight, Rainbow, or Fluttershy are. And poor AJ is pretty much always in the short end of the stick in popularity in the Mane 6 (Considering in a fan poll on Equestria Daily. More people picked Luna then AJ :S)

Finally something to talk about for Season 4!

Capture.JPG

Rainbow Dash's character is going to very much go into the feels department sometime in Season 4. There's three possibilities I think. And perhaps they could all happen or just two of them happen.

*Scootalove (In other words more heartwarming moments between Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo)
*Support for Twilight now that she has wings now, perhaps during Flight training or something else otherwise. (She was the first to give a positive reaction to Twilight after she had ascended. Hope there's more things like that)
*Something regarding the Wonderbolts. (Perhaps she's finally accepted in some way?)

Wonder how they're going to balance a "feels" plot with the needs of their target audience. Dramatic writing is a good thing, at least for the brony periphery, but they're running the risk of alienating the merch-buying little kids if they get carried away.

I agree with the predictions except that last one. Reason: many of the ponies life-long goals will most likely be resolved in the last season, like Rainbow Dash's and CMC. Because those episodes relating to those goals provide really good episodes, and episodes resolving those dreams won't happen anymore. Unless of course, this is the final season....

Keep in mind though, DF, the goalposts can always move. Once she is on the team, if that's the direction they're taking, there's a number of plot doors that could open up as a result. And when those arcs are exhausted, push the limits again.

I actually kind of realized that after I posted as an afterthought. I guess if they do let Rainbow Dash be a Wonderbolt, I hope they do it in the beginning of the season, so there will be more opportunities to see her in action.
