they should do some sort of inception-ending-esque thing where rainbow dash has always thought that her father was disappointed that she couldn't be more like him, and then she finds out that he was disappointed that she tried

highhly unlikely, but I like that idea

Rainbow Dash's character is going to very much go into the feels department sometime in Season 4. There's three possibilities I think. And perhaps they could all happen or just two of them happen.

*Scootalove (In other words more heartwarming moments between Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo)
*Support for Twilight now that she has wings now, perhaps during Flight training or something else otherwise. (She was the first to give a positive reaction to Twilight after she had ascended. Hope there's more things like that)
*Something regarding the Wonderbolts. (Perhaps she's finally accepted in some way?)
I agree with the predictions except that last one. Reason: many of the ponies life-long goals will most likely be resolved in the last season, like Rainbow Dash's and CMC. Because those episodes relating to those goals provide really good episodes, and episodes resolving those dreams won't happen anymore. Unless of course, this is the final season....

Keep in mind we've already had AliTwi. Which while it wasn't exactly hinted heavily throughout the show. Thinking about it, it made sense (At least... to people like me that were positive to the idea). (Plus I'd argue there's some subtle hints in that's been there since the start) that it ends Twilight's first character arc. And now Season 4 and possibly beyond is an all new one for her.

I don't think one of the CMC getting their Cutie Mark, or even Rainbow Dash ever getting closer to a wonderbolt while the show still continues on is all that farfetch'd anymore. Because AliTwi itself was something you'd think would be a Series Finale type thing. It's actually another reason they took this kind of risk with AliTwi, they could do more of that that barely any other shows similar to it do.

and still nothing about rarity

so we've got a sad story on our hands...

As a side note, Neptune. Rarity episodes have already been confirmed by the staff. We just don't know what they're about yet. They won't abandon Rarity like they did in Season 3.

I saw an article in TV Guide about the new season. Apparently this season will introduce Pinkie Pie's sisters.

I think some of us actually knew about that already. But can you post everything what it said or is that all it said?

Here's a story I just had to share: Today, I was sharing TV Guide's "Top 60 Greatest Cartoons of All Time", and I got into the subject of He-Man. See, I casually mentioned how He-Man was kind of a stupid show in retrospect, and one guy took issue with that. I tried to explain that the show could still be entertaining, but that you have to acknowledge it's rather silly or absurd moments, but he was having none of that, and took every single comment I said as an insult... when not as an insult, really, the guy likes to "bust my chops" as it were, and whenever we "disagree" on something, it's typically just him thinking something's awesome and accepting no substitutes and me just being "eh, oh well" about it...

Then the subject of Friendship is Magic got brought up. And I have to admit, I did the entire fandom a disservice (if the fans didn't already do themselves an internal disservice, if you know what I mean... Don't play dumb, you know, EXACTLY what I'm talking about!). Basically, my friend was still upset about me apparently bashing He-Man, but I took issue with him because he thought I was exclusively talking about the old My Little Pony, comparing it to Rainbow Brite and whatnot. I tried to explain it to him, but he wouldn't let me get what I wanted to say out, and let me tell you guy, I may hate arguing and debating online, but I am even WORSE in real life! I was talking over him, losing my patience, and at one point, I even SHOUTED at him, and that was the point where he realized he had gone to far and backed off. I had also realized I had gone too far, and apologized repeatedly for losing my cool. He said he'd check out the new My Little Pony (I made sure to let him know I was SPECIFICALLY referring to Friendship is Magic), so long as I checked out the new He-Man (I didn't even know there was a new He-Man...).

Moments later, some of my other friends, who managed to overhear what went down, though I was upset with him and that he was being mean to me, though before I could explain what happened, he actually invited me away from them, to tell me that he actually saw the song sequence of "A True, True Friend", and actually LIKED it (to quote him, it "didn't bother [him] at all"); he loved the message of the song, and thought the song was really good, too. He especially liked Rarity's part. ;)

Now I was actually a little touched by this, because not only did he immediately take the time to look up the show, but he apparently was convinced that I wasn't kidding that the show was good through my favorite song from the show! I apologized again for getting so antsy, but he also apologized because he only meant to poke at me, whereas he felt like what he did was punch me. We made up with a "man hug", and we're basically still cool now.

It's a story like the kind you'd hear a lot on the Internet, and I thought I'd share it with you guys.

no actually I have no effing clue what you mean
I figured this will be what people will pick up. Basically, on the MLP forums and sites I go to, the fanbase is so divided that people started making personal attacks on people for differing opinions. People who hated season 3 (specifically the finale) and Equestria Girls say that those who liked those things deliberately turn off their brains and are just sucking up to the creative team, while those who like those things think that the people who don't are just close-minded haters that are just hissy about the show's direction.

Really, the problem isn't differing opinions but how these people go about them; they act like the other side is stupid or dumb, and that's just mean.

Today is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic's 3rd year anniversary! I love the image EqD posted:

Luna somehow managed to be both pretty and adorable at the same time. Celestia is more elegant then "cute".

Anyway, how did I came into pony? I came to see what "Spike with a mustache" was all about, and I stayed for the cute ponies, good animation, voice acting, and music. I... tolerated the writing on occasion.

Here's to 3 more years and beyond!

I first encountered pony through Cupcakes. Ugh.

Later I watched an actual episode, and... was kind of neutral. I didn't love it or anything, and I was more interested in the fandom than anything else.

Finally, my cousin sat me down and showed me several of the really good episodes and WOW. Just wow.

It is now my favorite cartoon. Like Smashgoom said, the animation! the voice acting! the characters!

Good gracious!

Happy Anniversary, MLP!

May this wonderful work of art continue for many years!

I'm actually surprised SonicMario didn't post that first.

Before I joined this forum, I had no idea what this pony "fad" (as I was described to as) was all about. Everyone had some MLP avatar like Smasher, PTR, and UM, and it just confused the heck out of me. Of course, I'm easily influenced, so I decided to watch one episode, and I fell in love with it.

So, here's a toast MLP!

Just curious, do you guys genuinely believe FiM is the best animated show ever? Or do you acknowledge it has flaws, but you still love it despite, and maybe because of them?

The second one, for me. Its definitely not everybody's cup of tea, but I love it.

pointing out its flaws is one of the reasons i left the fandom. i think it's a good animated show but i wouldn't put it in the top 10 best animated shows. off the top of my head batman TAS and avatar TLA are two contenders for best animated show IMO.

i do think MLP is a good enough show that it's one of the shows i "keep up with" and i want to see the new episodes as soon as they come out. and i can't say that for a lot of shows.

Oh, definitely. I've never seen Batman TAS, what's it like?

OK. I was thinking about it because I was looking at the comments of Doug Walker's Adventure Time Vlogs. People were saying "Oh, go review MLP, I'm sure you'll love it!" And I was thinking "Really? Do you guys think MLP is that amazing that he'll think of it in the same regard as A:TLA? I thought it was just an OK show, but fantastic by MLP standards."

Even though I consider myself a brony, I don't really got into the brony fandom all that much. Or at least I try not too. I don't consider MLP the best cartoon ever by all means, but it's up there. Although I do believe FiM is the best MLP generation.

No; in retrospect, I feel like the show is merely an above-average children's cartoon that got a lot of hype with everyone expecting it to be the ultimate downfall of Lauren Faust, coupled with 4chan turning it into a meme. Which is not to say there aren't any good, if not excellent parts in it, nor am I saying that if someone was deeply moved or found a connection with this show, that doesn't make it any less so to them, but what is is what is, and what this is, is a pretty good show that might not have lived up to the hype for some.

...Ironically, the show Lauren Faust (and her husband Craig McCracken) are working on now, Wander Over Yonder, is starting to become my all-time favorite animated show ever, though that MIGHT be in defiance of people putting it down, because of how refreshing I feel the show is.

Of course, you also have to consider what makes the "best" animated show; is it the writing, the acting, or do you think it's important to fully utilize the medium of animation by having the characters do things they can't do in reality (and I don't mean slapstick, I mean pull off very expressive faces, certain kinds of shading, etc.). A lot of animated shows these days seem to find influence in The Simpsons, which is mostly just people talking, which is good, but I'm starting to find myself drawn (pun not intended) towards the actuation animation in animated shows, as of late.

No, to say FiM is the best animated show ever is simply not true. There are many cartoons that are more consistent in Quality then Friendship is Magic can be. That's not to say however we can't love it like any other cartoon we do like. Alot of us still await what is in the future for our favorite ponies. ^^

Mainly because it's a bit awkward for me to post about it since three years ago I didn't even know the show existed. Late February/Early March was when I discovered, watched, and became a fan of the show.

Depends on who you're asking.

Most of us on this site recognize the show for what it is: a mildly entertaining children's television show. Sometimes it's addictive as crack, sometimes it's simply not interesting atm. Sometimes it's brilliant, but it can also be idiotic. The music, acting, animation, plot, etc can all range in quality from episode to episode. It can put on quite a spectacle, but there will always be a bigger fish. We like it, but we realize it's not perfect and there's lots of room for improvement.

However, if you go to somewhere like ED, you're probably gonna come across some nutso fanboys who would say the former.
