Just curious, do you guys genuinely believe FiM is the best animated show ever? Or do you acknowledge it has flaws, but you still love it despite, and maybe because of them?
i personally really love it, but thats just me

MLP. Meh, I don't mind it, but I don't hate it either. It's a 50-50 situation for me.

However, if you go to somewhere like ED, you're probably gonna come across some nutso fanboys who would say the former.

I don't know about recent days. On Equestria Daily you can see alot of people say "MLP RUINED FOREVER CAUSE TWILICORN/EQUESTRIA GIRLS/SEASON 3/etc." sometimes :P

you rang

Haha very funny xP

But in all seriousness Friendship is Magic hasn't lost that much quality. Season 3 just had less episodes then the last two so the mix of good, meh, and bad episodes stands out more. If you split the other two seasons into sections of 13 this is more apparent. I think they'd have their own ups and down. Equestria Girls will barely have anything to do with the main show. And I respect opinions on the whole AliTwi thing if you don't like the concept. But to say it's what made the show "Jump the Shark", made Twilight a Mary Sue, or came out of nowhere is just jumping to conclusions.

I'm going to outright say that Season 3 is the worst season of the show so far. But not out of the pure quality. It's just it's hard to match up with two 26 season long episodes as there is in only 13 in the first place. All 13 episodes ending up being awesome would be too optimistic especially with a show that's not always the most consistent already. But I think Season 3's true worth is setting up how Season 4's going to go down. Alot of what Season 3 did was the set up for Season 4 episodes. And it's a big reason why I'm excited for Season 4 more then perhaps any season of the show thus far.

On a side note, found this hilarious quote on Tumblr.

"There are two MLP:FiM fandoms. The “Friendship is Magic” fandom, and the “I’m Done With Pony Things Forever, I’ve Moved On Dammit Guys Stop Talking About Ponies I’ve Left the Fandom God Why Won’t the Brony Fandom Shut Up” fandom."

Funny, but sadly accurate.

Gee, that's... not exactly what I'd like to be known for, though admittedly, when it comes to certain subjects, I have a lot to say...

anything you'd like to add to that?

Is that a joke? Because I feel like I'd like to post what I've been saying on Equestria Daily during their countdown to season 4; going over all the previous episodes and Equestria Girls, but since some of them tend to get pretty lengthy, and you guys seem to have a thing for me making long posts, I think I'll pass on that.

Although, it's not like there's anything inherently WRONG with that. You just make a lot of tl;dr posts.

We're not too long from Season 4 beginning (About 5 5 weeks. I'm sure if we did too much of this already. But why don't we give a bit of a wishlist for Season 4?

Most of what I want is kinda similar to what this guy said in this video. He's a reviewer I found that seems to be quite similar in interests in regards to FiM. (All 6-7 of my most favorite episodes of the series are all in his Top 20)

Besides what this guy brings up though. I will put a few things.

- The Opener to be an awesome introduction to Season 4 that sets the tone for much of the season or at least explore into what's in Twilight future after her ascension in Magical Mystery Cure. Also the only somewhat physical antagonist should be the Flashback Nightmare Moon. The true antagonist being Twilight's self-doubt
- Two Words: Flying. Lessons. It doesn't matter if Twilight already knows how to fly or not. I'd kinda expect Rainbow to want to see Twilight learn how to fly faster so maybe someday she could have a new flying buddy that could enjoy the skies with her besides Fluttershy. Who's usually a slower flyer and/or likes to stick to the ground more often to take care of her animals. Basically all I'm asking for is a sort of vice versa of Read It and Weep. Instead of Twilight getting Rainbow into Reading, it's Rainbow getting Twilight into Flying.
- More areas explored other then Canterlot, Ponyville, and the Crystal Empire. My personal choice? Saddle Arabia.
- I'd also like to see Discord used cleverly in anyway possible. I'm a bit neutral on the whole "Should Discord have been tamed" sort of thing. But if they do something good with it, maybe Keep Calm and Flutter On will feel less "just there". I am kinda intrigued though. Considering a Discord songhas been confirmed
- And oh yeah, something that shows how close Rainbow is to being a Wonderbolt. Wonderbolt Academy was one of the best episodes of Season 3 and perhaps the best Rainbow Dash episode yet. But the ending didn't really make it clear how far she has to go with training. Considering we can assume all the episodes after it came after Wonderbolt Academy, it hasn't done too much of anything yet. But perhaps Wonderbolt Academy works like that trainees go there for a week or two and come back at a later time for more training

Thirty-second gag. No more. Longer and it'll just bog down the episode.

You would say that.

I like this guy's wishlist. The solo songs, the reunions, Daring Do, and the CMC. And from your wish list: Discord. Discord has always been my favorite antagonist ever since he made it rain chocolate milk.

i'm not planning on watching this season, but if "saddle arabia" is actually shown, i want you to link me the video as soon as possible so i can assess how accurate it is

Uh, this is a show with magical technicolor ponies in a fantasy world. What's really the point of really seeing how "accurate" a place in Equestria that's just named with a pun off a real world place. It's not like the one city we've had glimpses of (Manehattan) actually looks exactly like Manhattan.

Also any reason in particular you're not seeing Season 4? Just not as interested in the show anymore?

Yes, Hasbro wouldn't want complaints from actual Saddle Arabians.

well i thought it would be kinda fun to see if there actually were any similarites, not to complain about lack of them. maybe i worded that wrong

also yeah my interest in the show has faded, i have a lot of other things that i'd rather do instead now

Anyway, I'm getting close to finishing my episode comparisons that I've been mainly posting on another site. Just five more matches to go

That being the following:

Sweet and Elite Vs. Bridle Gossip Vs. Hurricane Fluttershy
Ponyville Confidential Vs. Secret of my Excess Vs. Cutie Mark Chronicles
Just For Sidekicks Vs. Winter Wrap-Up Vs. MMMystery at the Friendship Express
Party of One Vs. Family Appreciation Day Vs. Canterlot Wedding, Part 1
Magical Mystery Cure Vs. Baby Cakes Vs. Canterlot Wedding, Part 2

I actually made an estimate on what I'd likely choose. And I admit the way I went with scoring seems to have it made it so that it doesn't exactly reflect how I feel on each season. But combining on a different system that includes given points for most of the episodes being better (In my opinion) then the other during the original comparisons. Ends up in a result that's more accurate.

When I post the full results I'll post both types of what happens. The types are:

TYPE A (The one I used to score during the Season 3 challenge)
Ex: One of the matches of round 2 was Sonic Rainboom Vs. Lesson Zero Vs. Read It and Weep. Lesson Zero got first with 1 point, and my opinion hasn't changed regarding Read It and Weep Vs. Sonic Rainboom so Read It and Weep got 2nd with a .5 point, and Sonic Rainboom got none

TYPE B (Alternate scoring that will be shown at the end that provides a much more accurate result)
Ex: Going back to the same example I used for Type A. This would include the other two episodes in the same numerical order that was in Round 1. This time #1 (Lesson Zero) would get 2 points, #2 (Read It and Weep) would get 1.5 points, #3 (Sonic Rainboom) would get 1 Point, #4 (Too Many Pinkie Pies) would get a .5 point, and #5 (Ticket Master) would get no points.

In short: Season 2 would get 3.5 points for Lesson Zero and Read It and Weep having the Top 2, Season 1 would only get 1 point for Sonic Rainboom's ranking, and Season 3 gets a .5 point for still being better then the episode that comes in last in my opinion.
