I don't see any harm in just trying it out, I mean we already have ranks and all, and I don't think anyone posts just to get stars
i'm pretty sure some people do

or at least did in the past

We COULD do something here similar like in BrawlVault, where you got awards based on your hacks and if you are part of a team or something. Except we could base it off the wiki where it could be based off good-faith edits, being a writer of the 'Shroom, or image uploads or something.

But honestly, no one should edit the wiki for extrinsic purposes.

Hmmm... Can I suggest that someone makes a ban log, but only for sockpuppets? Or even add them on the current Ban Log. I usually wonder why "user A" was banned, but I cannot see a reason, as he was a sockpuppet of "User B".

Then it would be a bloody long list of Rudnikies.

maybe we could have a Rudnicki list

I don't think it's that good of an idea

unless you're talking about only the most recent banned sockpuppets

I think we should have a sock list because people do ask.

How about badges or stamps or something those are just side achievements

This is a possible suggestion I guess(if enough people agree), but could we make a Sports child board in the Entertainment/Media board? Threads for various leagues/sports get made on occasion but quickly get buried by the other TV related threads and new ones end up having to be made. I feel like it'd be a bit more organized if we had a child board dedicated to sports talk, as it's sort of its own category of entertainment.

Well, I don't really see that much sports talk going on around here. Maybe that would change if we had another board, though.

I'd consider the purpose of child-boards is to hold many topics which are best regarded in their own right. I'd personally think that the odd sports thread "on occasion" isn't enough to gain a separate board, and if we make one of these we might as well have child boards for other sub-topics such as a "Pokémon" thread, which may be a popular subject, but the fact that this forum is Mario-themed was the reason that idea was shot down. So for this reason, I'm against the idea of having a sports child board.

Can't we just have a stickied sports thread or something?

i'm going to abstain about that for now, but

yeah, while we're at it, let's delete the video games board and have one stickied thread for video games

Well the thing is that this is a video game related forum, not a sports forum. Not everyone here is THAT interested in sports. If they were, they would probably be better off at a sports forum.

Yes, but my point is that sports are as different as video games, and having one thread to cover them all wouldn't be a great idea.

It's still a bad analogy at best

Yeah, I actually noticed holes in my post as soon as I posted it, such as the fact that we don't only cover video games.

So I guess I'm in support of this board. It should have general topics for the sport, such as Football/Soccer, Rugby, American Football, Baseball, Cricket, stuff like that, and also include topics for special events, like the Olympics and the Super Bowl.
