A bunch of stuff:

Link to the FAQ in the bar at the top - After almost every other question in the Helpdesk is about rotating avatars even after it's been added to the FAQ.

Link to the Rules ^^^^^^ I don't think anyone would think to look for them in the General Discussion board even if it's locked and stickied, and even if they did go past it it would be easily overlooked.

Censor the word "ass" - I think it is technically a swear word.

Show a user's display name history - I think the mods do have that on record, at least that would be good enough (a previous suggestion I made to show someone's previous avatars and signatures wasn't feasible)
First: I'd be up for that, but it might be better to put the FAQ in the board description of HelpDesk, if possible.

Second: Sure, why not.

Third: I'm pretty sure we've discussed it multiple times, and the answer has always been not censoring it. So that's not changing.

Fourth: We have it on record under Track User, but I have no idea if it's possible to make it visible. As for manually making a list, nope not doing it

After what happened with this thread
I think we should have a rule against renaming the titles of SERIOUS threads into something stupid.
It happened to the noteworthy things thread. I just find it annoying and silly to mess up serious threads by giving it a stupid title.
Just how I feel really.

Yeah, the exact thing happened with the Noteworthy things you did today topic. It just randomly changed to a link to a topic, and now the wording is all messed up. It's aggravating, and I'd like it to stop as well.

Per Lily.

And yeah, same with the stickied official pictures thread in Mindless Junk as well. I'm glad I wasn't the only one irked by that happening.

But Mindless Junk is anything but serious

Fun fact, neither the Noteworthy thing Thread, nor the 3DS Colour Thread were located in Mindless Junk.

I remember the Homestuck thread used to be something ridiculous sounding

Actually, that made sense if you were a fan of Homestuck. It'd only sound ridiculous to somebody who wasn't, but people who were fans of it would be able to understand what it was.

It doesn't need to be a rule if it's more or less common sense

We're not making it a rule, but we are going to target it under preexisting rules. There's no real need to rename either of the big threads in question right now though, the meaning is still clear.

^^^Making sure no one forgot that.

So, are we going to sticky the Super Mario 3D World thread? :P

Good idea, and let's also Sticky Sonic Lost World, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS, Yoshi's New Island, and any other game they have shown at the E3...
This will be a chaos of Stickies if we did so, actually.

Well I'm suggesting only the big name games.

How about we implement a country flag system, similar to MFGG's? This can show that this board isn't entirely American and also it would be nifty to see how many countries the boards span. I've made about 22 flags, most from major countries. I also included two examples to show how it could look if it was implemented.
QpV0IYg.png
Open the image in a new tab and zoom in if you can't see the flags at the top.

I did it in IP.Board (DSHack.org) too, it's not that hard to do.
Just create a new Profile Field, and give each Country (Dropdown Box) its own Image URL.
I don't know if SMF supports Custom Profile Fields, though.

Per Pyro, but I think it would be better to place the flags at the bottom of someone's profile.

Also, one thing I've been wanting to put forward for a while; this forum allows people to remove their own posts at any time, meaning that they vanish and it's like they were never there. IMO, a post completely disappearing is kind of confusing, so how about it just reads "removed by author" or something if deleted? That way, we know a post was there, but it's been removed, as opposed to a post completely gone.
