so personally I hope for something new

No. No matter how much EU and Clone Wars stuff is made, the theatrical, live action films are the only true canon.
but that would mean that awesome characters like mara jade and talon karrade and garm be iblis and delta squad aren't canon

and there's no way you will EVER convince me that grand admiral thrawn and kyle katarn aren't canon. those guys are awesome.

Just because something is cool, doesn't make it canon.

I like Broly, that does not make him canon to the Dragon ball universe though.

regardless, clonewars IS canon
you just don't want to consider it as canon and thats fine its your opinion
but don't go around saying because its your opinion that its right

no i'm pretty sure you're just being elitist and ignoring all of the good star wars EU canon just to ignore the bad EU canon.

i mean seriously all of these characters deserve to be canon simply on account of their awesomeness. and part of why i'm mad at disney is it's highly unlikely luke will marry mara jade now, and they'll probably replace her with someone less awesome. which sucks, because luke x mara was one of the best battle couples out there.

i highly doubt they'll produce a female lead more awesome than mara jade.

Canonicity is something everyone should decide for themselves. The creators of a work of fiction provide the initial spark with the material they publish, but the world, the story, and the characters unfold in the mind of the audience. Since the audience's imagination is necessary to (re)create and hold together a truly believable world, it is each viewer individually who decides which elements are true to their impression of that world.

Some might argue that not treating everything the creators say as law is an act of disrespect, but if you think about it, it really isn't. It's the opposite in fact, it celebrates the work in question. If you care about a particular fictional world so much that you fully and willingly immerse yourself in it, think about it, interpret it, and even invest a piece of yourself in it, that is pretty much the ultimate compliment any creator of fiction can receive.

So really, as long as you're not a dick about it, everyone should be allowed to have their own canon regardless of the canon canon. Canon canon canon.

Exactly. In my headcanon, only the films count.
which is completely fine
but I'm just saying don't go saying that your head canon is whats really canon, you gotta mention its your head canon

I really don't get why people say Disney Star Wars in going to suck, I honestly think that this upcoming trilogy will much better than the last trilogy.
why? what does disney bring to the table that will make star wars better?

it's certainly not money, because lucas was not short of money.
the fact that most Disney writers have been known to be less shitty than lucas

My own canon is:

Star Wars: The Old Republic Series
The Movies
The Clone Wars (TV show)
The Force Unleashed

my personal canon as far as star wars goes:
the movies
that one episode of the muppet show which had the stars of star wars as the guest stars

My personal canon:
the movies
most of the games (empire at war: forces of corruption is a little hard to buy, because tyber zann doesn't appear anywhere else in canon)
the thrawn trilogy
most of the clone wars tv show (except darth maul reapperaring. honestly. although tbh i only watched season 1. i personally think the malevolence is canon.)

What I don't consider canon:
Empire at War: Forces of Corruption (for reasons listed above)
Dark Empire (the entire series is basically palpatine going LOLZ I AM UBERPOWERED. oh, and boba fett returns for no reason whatsoever. although the balmorrans in dark empire II were totally boss, with molecular shielding and all.)

That was an actual episode of the Muppet Show?

Man, I've got to watch the rest of the show. I've only seen most of Seasons One-Three.

story is too stupid in star wars for me to consider anything canon
