http://www.mariowiki.com/MarioWiki:Redirects

In the Other Types of Redirects where it says 'it's recommended to update all links to the new name and delete the redirect page.' should be changed to say that 'it is necessary to update them' because if a file is moved and not updated it won't work and I'm guessing that the same goes for categories and templates

Good catch.

Two questions regarding identifiers:

 • Sherbet Land (course) is a racecourse that appears in Mario Kart 64, Double Dash, and Wii. Would it be acceptable to replace its current identifier with "(Mario Kart)" or something similar?
 • Sherbet Land (world) appears solely in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, so replacing the identifier with the game title shouldn't be too much of a problem. However, should the identifier be "(Wario Land)"? "(Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3)"? "(Super Mario Land 3)"?

I prefer simply "Wario Land" since I'd like my identifiers shorts and the "Super Mario Land 3" portion of the name is more of a subtitle. I'd rather not set a precedent for having pages with names like "Something (Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble)".

MarioWiki:Naming

Minor edit: Under Shared Titles, under Determining the Identifier "WarioWare" isn't italicized when it should be. Here is the sentence: " For example, imagine there is a "Dribble & Spitz" souvenir in two WarioWare games."

http://www.mariowiki.com/MarioWiki:User_Welcome_Policy

The thing is, they are no longer immediately welcomed so that needs to be removed. The information left should be:

If you want to welcome a new user:

*You may only edit/create a new user's talk page if they have made at least one constructive edit on the wiki.

The edit can be in any namespace. This rule exists to prevent us from having thousands of user talk pages for users who never do anything on the wiki.

Doesn't the MediaWiki thing bring up a welcome message automatically? Like, it just appears and the new user can read it, and then it's gone forever with no talk page being created. Or is that not functional anymore? (having not made any new accounts myself as of late, I wouldn't know, but my guess is that it's still working as advertised)

It still works. The page doesn't need to be changed.

It should be changed a tiny bit to say 'Constructive edit' rather than just edit

In MarioWiki: Trivia, should we add something about use the words "interestingly" and "oddly"?

I'm not sure whether this is on purpose considering it's in BJAODN, but the failed unfeature nomination for Yoshi's Island DS lacks the failure template.

I think this thing got archived there before it could even fail 'officially'. Besides, it being in BJAODN already implies what its result was, so I don't see the need for that template personally.

Whilst it did get archived, they are two different pages, so the one in the category of failed unfeatured nominations can still have the template, and it being in the category Failed Unfeaturing nominations implies the result so I don;t see that as a valid point.

Well ask Glowsquid who thought it was a good idea making that page

Since Porple has updated the Galleries template with a new classification, perhaps we should amend MW:Galleries to acknowledge this. Something like this, maybe?

...
*Subject galleries: Includes images and artwork relating to a notable character, species, form or object. Examples include: Gallery:Mario, Gallery:Goomba, Gallery:Fire Mario, and Gallery:Fire Flower.
*Miscellaneous galleries: Subjects that have enough images and notability for a gallery, and do not fall under games, characters, species, forms or objects. Examples include: Gallery:Wii U, Gallery:The Year of Luigi, and Gallery:Rosalina's Storybook.
*Mario Merchandise: Galleries that contain images of collectibles such as accessories, trading cards, toys, and other miscellaneous merchandise.
...

as well as this

;For miscellaneous galleries and Mario merchandise galleries
Any appropriate section title can be given to a miscellaneous gallery or a Mario Merchandise gallery, as these galleries often cover subjects that require specific headings for their organisation.

removed the 'often' part, because they always do.

The one link should be "miscellaneous merchandise", and I think the secomd bit can just call 'em "merchandise" without the "mario" and the capitalization. Other thsn those little tweaks, lookks good - nice call!

Unless anyone has any objections, I can make the changes to the page for ya later tomorrow (or the day after, if I run out of time between classes).

Yeah, that flows a lot better. Thanks in advance!
