Requesting edits for locked pages.

This came up a few hours ago, but should File Redirects be added to Special Pages under Maintenance Report so it's easier to find them?

The page isn't locked but I thought I should ask first; could Koopa (disambiguation) be moved to simply "Koopa"?

I think so. Right now, the wiki's assuming that most people looking for "Koopa" mean the specific Koopa Troopa species, but I've always felt like that's assuming too much.

You know, the thread title's a bit of a misnomer at this point; people are using this place for pretty much anything that only the mods can do (such as deleting pages and moving certain articles). Perhaps the thread name should be changed to reflect that?

Not on that page you don't. That's why it's protected.

And we'll decide what should or shouldn't be protected, thank you very much. This is "requesting edits for locked pages", not "telling the admins what to do", so if you could ask us to do stuff, rather than making statements (as you've done a few times now), that would be appreciated.

I tried, but couldn't really think of a professional and succinct way to phrase "requesting stuff that only admins can do"; editing locked pages already suggests this is the place to go for stuff requiring admin help. Besides, editing locked pages should be the main use for this thread anyway - the other requests are just incidental.

It might've bee left off before because it's a gallery, rather than a MarioWiki page, but it is an archive of an abandoned feature, so I think using the template makes sense. I added it.

Similarly, users sometimes fixate on the darker aspects of Mario plots and blow things way out of proportion. Yes, Dimentio turning out to be a psychotic puppetmaster who wants to wipe all of reality out of existence is interesting and serious stuff, but it does not require half a dozen pages to adequately cover this one-time character. Similarly, while Bowser does make a habit of invading the Mushroom Kingdom, saying he's a ruthless, bloodthirsty tyrant who threatens hundreds of lives with his incessant violent attacks is going a little too far. This is Mario we're dealing with after-all: it's fine to take it seriously if you want, but keep the heavy-handed dramatic prose off the articles.
I don't know you guys, but it sounds a little odd to me that a paragraph about not detailing dramatically stuff to have such a sentence is a little hypocritical. I mean really, psychotic puppetmaster?

I think that's the point.

Can Template:Block be edited to say {{BASEPAGENAME}} has been blocked for (time) instead of {{BASEPAGENAME}} has been blocked (time)

The 'for' is supposed to be added in manually as part of the (time) variable. If the template included 'for' we'd have grammatical errors like 'for indefinitely' and such.

Oops, sorry, forgot about that.

Could MediaWiki:Uploadtext be updated and something about the aboutfile template be appended in it..

Example:
Code:
*The text that appeared below is the preloaded code of the {{tem|Aboutfile}} Template, It contains five variables (five lines). It should either be formatted correctly, or removed before uploading.
**If you insert the information, be sure to replace the whole variable (but not the "<code>|</code>" and the number) including the squared brackets, so "<code>[insert info here]</code>" becomes "<code>This is the inserted information</code>", not "<code>[This is the inserted information]</code>".
**If you want to exclude a variable, be sure to remove the entire line, don't just leave it as it.
I think the most important part is the first line, as most newbies will click the template and read about it (but I'm not sure).

Thanks.
