Images without {{aboutfile}}: The {{aboutfile}} template is important because it shows a description and the source of an image. These are images that are currently lacking this template.

Could someone please tell me what's that supposed to mean? There's no link to the images that use it, so I don't understand the "these" part.

Images that lack aboutfiles are images that lack aboutfiles. Probably done to be like the other entries in the list, but unlike the others, this one doesn't use jargon or shorthand in the bold title part: it's exactly what it says on the tin, making that explanatory line admittedly redundant.

Shouldn't there be a category for easy finding or is it impossible to do? Since I find it hard to track down images that lack it and add it.

Seems redundant to make a category: someone will still need to go around finding the images (I don't think it can be done automatically). It's not like it's a pressing concern, so simply trying to intercept new uploads with the ugly blank aboutfiles, and adding the template to other images whenever you happen across them should be okay.

Also, I rewrote the entry, adding the bit about blank ones to make the "what is" line less pointless.

Images without {{aboutfile}}: Images without {{aboutfile}} templates or with blank templates. When used properly, aboutfiles should provide a description and the source of an image.

Thanks, it's much clearer and easier to understand

I agree. An {{articleabout}} on the subspace enemy article would be best.

Taking care of that now.

EDIT: All done.

I think the idea is to let them get started by editing pages, rather than starting from scratch. Kinda a steep learning curve, and despite MW:MOS, the best way to learn us always by example. 'Course, MostLinkedPages is still a pretty crappy choice seeing as it's mostly help and policy pages up top (thanks to all the Welcome templates, methinks). Maybe Special:Random would be better...

I think Special:Random is the best choice. We could always go Special:LongPages or something, but I like the idea of giving the new editors all the knowledge they need and then bringing them to (potentially) someplace that has some problem that could easily be edited away. Seems better than bringing them to say, Mario or Bowser or something, and having them sift through a whole lot of words.

Ellie redirects to Ellie the Elephant. There is an article called Ellie (Super Paper Mario). Make disambig. page, move Ellie (SPM) to simply Ellie and use {{articleabout}}, do nothing?

Ellie the Elephant is way more likely to be searched for than some random, minor SPM NPC, so it makes sense that she gets a redirect while the other character gets the identifier.

So... are we doing it?

There's nothing actually called King (excluding a souvenir in WarioWare: Twisted, but I think we can agree that it doesn't take priority), and yet we haveKing (disambiguation). King redirects to it, so it's not like anything major needs to be done. Could the (disambig.) thing be removed?

The standard for crossover characters (going from the Smash Bros.-related pages) is to have both the Mario and source series appearances.Fuck me.

I'm... not sure you entirely understood my question. I was referring to the series in parenthesis that was in their articles' titles.

Also, there's a badge called HP Drain in PMTTYD, which we call HP Drain (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door), and there is an item called HP Drain in PMTTYD, which we call HP Drain (item). Shouldn't they be called "HP Drain (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door item/badge)" or something?

(lol, this is what happens when I post at 10:30 pm)

Using the spinoff game in the main title is more consistent with everything else. The series origin paranthesis could be kept though, as I presume readers would type "from Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest" to find the more generically-named characters more easily.
