Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

The statement that 2 is harder is one I disagree with as well. Galaxy was near-impossible at times even in some of the earlier galaxies.
The hardest galaxies in 2 were all from that S galaxy at the end.

Galaxy 1 is better than Galaxy 2. Idk what it is but something keeps making me want to play Galaxy 1, but Galaxy 2 doesn't give me that same feeling. Galaxy 2 in general just feels a lot more bland compared to the first.

I mean seriously, the Comet Observatory was an awesome hub, and then once you get the Red Star you can fly around it like a complete maniac. Starship Mario was just so boring and you're always going to the same place with no real reason to look around.

I also hate the World design, it makes the game feel way too linear, whereas in Galaxy 1 you mostly had freedom to pick what you wanted to do.

Galaxy 2 is still a really good game, but Galaxy 1 is just simply better.

I don't think SMG 1 and 2 are seperate games, but rather one game split into two parts, much like with Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Galaxy 2 is just as good as Galaxy 1. Each of the games have strenghs over the other:

Galaxy: Soundtrack slightly better, better map, better story.
Galaxy 2: Galaxies slightly better, yoshi, more powerups, harder, longer to 100%.

Combine them and you have a perfect game.

Ha ha ha Galaxy 2 introduced problems of its own/failed to fix problems the first galaxy had.

Perfect game? LMAO. Not with the ---ty 2 player system it won't be a perfect game.

Which problems had to be fixed?
Two players is a gimmick, you play Mario Galaxy for solo, not for multiplayer.

I wouldn't be criticizing the two player if it weren't for the following: 1. it's barely improved from the first game and 2. hacks clearly demonstrate you can have a proper two player system in that game

I like it aside from the split screen. Not a fan of that.
Meh, I don't see the point of a split screen in that mode, but I shouldn't be quick to criticize things that independent modding teams work hard on.

Even then, Co-Star mode in Galaxy 2 is the closest thing to an improvement from the first game.

Here's a very unpopular opinion: Super Paper Mario is my favorite Paper Mario game. (But I still love its predecessors too)

I'll one-up you.

I like sticker star more than SPM.

I think that the Mario RPGs are among the worst games of the Franchise.
May I ask why you think that?

May I also ask why you think that? I understand you dislike the story, but SPM did have much more side content than Sticker Star, and kept far more Paper Mario traditions such as enemy tattles, pit of 100 trials, unique NPCs, a unique setting, general enemy designs, dialogue for Bowser and Luigi, items, recipes, a large hub (seriously SS's hub was what, three rooms?) And apart from the 2D-3D gimmick and changed battle system, the exploration wasn't all too different from the other games either. Those reasons, combined with the fact that it's personally the best story in the series, makes it the best PM for me.

The RPGs in general have had a lot more flops than the other spin-offs (sports, party, kart)
So as a whole sub-genre yeah I'd agree
But there are a few greats in there

Uh, no. RPGs have about as much flops as any other genre

Mario platformers have Lost Levels, Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. 2
Mario Kart has Mario Kart 64
Mario Party has Mario Party 9, Mario Party Island Tour, and soon-to-be Mario Party 10
Mario Sports like Tennis and Golf have their handheld games

RPGs has Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Super Paper Mario.

If you mean relatively speaking, no, the RPGs muster some of the greatest games in the franchise as well (Partners in Time, Thousand-Year Door) too.

Pfft no
MK64 was one of the greatest in the series
All of those platformers are actually pretty good
Mario Tennis Open was great same story with the 3DS golf (cannot remember the name)
And Mario Party 9 wasn't actually that bad (Island Tour sucked tho)
Also don't judge a game that hasn't come out yet

I liked Super Paper Mario, but it would have been better with more RPG elements.
