Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

Super Mario bros, The lost levels was actually not that hard once you learn everything

I feel like even if it is really hard that's not an automatic indicator of its objective quality too like some people say it is. If you like extreme difficulty you'll probably like it, if not then you probably won't. That said I say that as someone who doesn't intend to 100% every Mario game

I agree based on the first few levels of it I've played, but I know I'm not on the much more infamous ones yet lol

Sunshine seems to have way more bugs when it's emulated and ported than when it's on its original hardware.

This might be unpopular-I'd like to have at least one Mario game where you play as the villains and experience everything from THEIR point of view because it would be very interesting and unique. Like, it'd be great if there was a Mario and Luigi game where you could play as EITHER Mario and Luigi OR Bowser and the Koopalings (keep in mind if there are any games like this, the bad guys still HAVE to lose because who wants to see them win?). Like, play and complete the game as both sides, and you'd get everyone's perspective. Like, I don't know if THIS opinion of mine would be unpopular but I'm thinking probably because probably most people want to play as the heroes, right?

That's actually a really cool idea

Might say more on this at some point but one time I had the idea for a solo Bowser game where the game starts out in a fight with Mario that you can't win. Bowser then exiles himself to a wild part of the Mushroom world that has lots of giant monsters and isolated tribes, and from here the player can choose to make Bowser a drifter who tries to discipline himself by fighting the strongest creatures (which can give you new powers), or a conquerer who takes over the tribes of various mushroom-world creatures (Toads, Kongs, Kremlings, Koopas, Piantas, new stuff, whatever), giving you new moves. Bowser has a tattered cape and carries a scepter with an axe head. That's the elevator pitch anyway.

I quoted a reply written in 2016. Nothing has changed in Donkey Kong series since then.

The rest of the Kong family are in the same situation as them (except DK, Diddy, Cranky, Funky and Dixie). Outside of trophy cameos in Smash, Lanky has been missing since Barrel Blast, Candy and Wrinkly since Jungle Climber and Tiny since Mario Super Sluggers. The other ones have been missing for 10-15 years at this point. Heck, even Funky and Dixie were missing for 5-6 years between the release of Super Sluggers and Tropical Freeze.
8 years later and there is still no news at all. It was 9 years at the time, but now it's 17 years.
Dixie and Funky were able to appear because they became regulars in the 2000s.

I think the Kritters are likely to return in a sequel to Mario Strikers Charged, as they have been the goalies since the first game. As for a sequel to Mario Super Sluggers, I would be really sad if Namco cut them and King K. Rool from the roster, but they have not had any cuts yet.

I also hope Paon will make another Donkey Kong game in the future. They brought back the characters Rare made, even some of the enemies from DKC2 when they made Jungle Climber (Click-Clack, Lockjaw and Flitter), while still adding a few new enemies, instead of making the enemy lineup entirely new like Retro did with the Tikis and the Snowmads.

Though to be fair, I think the DK franchise as a whole is not as active as it should be.
Kritters were cut in the sequel and replaced by Boom Boom.
No new work has been released after Tropical Freeze. It's been over 10 years now.

I got one Luigis Mansion Dark Moon (or Luigis Mansion 2) is a really great game and is in my opinion one of the best luigis Mansion games
