I caught him in a Pokéball for the hell of it.

Took me some, I didn't count. I'd say somewhere between 40 and 100.
 
I don't know, there were several breaks in between ball throwing sessions since he used recovery a lot and I had to get his HP back down.
 
Aaaand Zygarde wasn't a challenge either. I had 20 Dusk Balls, and I managed to catch both of them with some left. Well, I guess it's time for Zapdos.

You'd have to be very lucky there, considering how low Mewtwo's catch rate is.
 
So I just heard its apparently impossible to catch a Shiny Mewtwo in this game? That sounds kinda strange.
 
Oh, I know that you could always catch Shiny Legendaries before but apparently not for Mewtwo this time around?
 
Game Freak is making it impossible to get shiny legendaries now.

IIRC it was also impossible to (without hacking) obtain a shiny Zekrom or Reshiram in Gen V.
 
That's kinda ridic considering they programmed shiny versions into the game.

Like... wut?

According to this, the battle doesn't even engage if you force it to battle a shiny, so that can't be the reason.

It might have been so they could give them away as events or something.
