Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

electricity is more or less equal to electrons which are more or less equal to light

except aurora beam is a ice-type attack

augh science doesn't mix with pokemon

I'm just against new types on the basis of having to re-learn the type chart. Good grief. Not to mention that it would majorly shake up just how defensive Steel-types are, considering I heard that Light would be super against them.

Well, saying that Electricity is Light for that reason would be like saying that Ice type is basically just frozen water, which would therefore make it water type.

And I'm still learning the chart, even after the last 3 years of playing pokemon. I think I've just about had it down. Only those with dual types confuse me from time to time.

But I mean Light would really help make some types more balanced. I mean, I could easily see it be super effective either against ghost or dark, which would mean stableye and spiritomb would both have a weakness - heck, maybe double weakness - to light.

Bug's defenses are the only ones I'm not sure about.

And the only cool thing about Sableye and Spiritomb is their no weaknesses. Take that away and you deprive them of their uniqueness. Not to mention that you give Shedinja another weakness which makes him less awesome.

Shedinja is already super non-awesome. And so? They have other things to make them good.

And yes, I don't even know what the big is resistant to.

I know that it is weak to rock, fire, flying (iirc), and that's it. I think it's resistant to grass, ground, and...fighting?

that's what they all say

until you're nearing the end of the battle and have run out of flying, dark, ghost, fire, and rock moves

then he appears and gg

My point still stands that he's a dark horse, no one expects him to be any good and therefore he is. Because no one prepares against Shedinja, he's a trick card that can checkmate someone easily if you get lucky.

And even if the opponent does have counters to him, he can pop in on someone who can't touch him and Will-O-Wisp/Toxic the switch. Which is rather useful.

You know, I hear so many Magikarp jokes, and yet not so many for Shedinja. And what's so ironic about that is the fact that Magikarp can't even touch Shedinja without Bounce.

You know what I would like to see in the Pokemon games?

Evolutions during a battle.

Like, I think that it would really cool to see if they do that. I mean, some alternate forms happen mid-battle, so why not evolutions?

Chances are, they don't let Pokemon evolve during a battle, since you might wish to leave the Pokemon unevolved until it gets the moves that you want for it.

Well, I meant they do that little scene that they do after the battle if your pokemon is ready to evolve, but just move it in the mid of the battle after they get enough exp to evolve, while still having the option to press B if they don't want their pokemon to evolve yet.

Yeah, I can't see mid battle evolutions happening though.

In response to the talk of adding in new types and changing the type chart, it would possibly allow a type like poison to become better. Maybe super effective against water?

Well, I could.

And I don't know if Poison being effective against Water is a good idea. There is just me though.

What we need is more types resistant to Dragon. It's a big reason why Dragon-type is so powerful. Only Steel is resistant to it, and the rest aren't.

Yeah, Dragon is pretty OP, which is why it is really mostly reserved for Pseudos/Legendaries.

Does anyone else feel like Steel type is mostly good for secondary types?

I feel like there really isn't a strong Steel type that doesn't have another type to improve it's offense. It has awesome defense, but not really a strong offense, or many powerful moves. I think that's mostly because Steel isn't very effective against many types. I think the only types it are effective against are ice and rock, and those have like 2 or 4 other types super effective against it.

I personally think that Steel should be super effective against Dragon. I think that would really balance things around.

According to logic, Sylveon should be flying ability.

With that logic you could swap Sylveon with Vaporeon and deduce Sylveon is bug.
This is just a coincidence I think.

For some Steel-type Pokemon, they may have to resort to using Steel-type attacks if their other attacks can't cope with the type matchups.

For one instance, Cobalion has to resort to using Iron Head to deal neutral damage to Dragonite, since Sacred Sword, Close Combat, and X-Scissor are not very effective against it. Of course, there is Stone Edge for super effective damage, but its accuracy is quite shaky without Hone Claws. But because Cobalion's offenses are only at around average levels, it tends to prefer Swords Dance over Hone Claws, especially if it's not able to take advantage of its Justified ability.

Similarly, without Iron Head, Cobalion would have it rough against Froslass and Aerodactyl.

Pure coincidence by my perspective as well.
