What about if you wanted to use a Volcarona, but it starts out as a Larvesta? Larvesta can't evolve until it reaches level 59, and if your opponents are lower leveled than your Larvesta, it won't earn as much experience points as if it were at a level disadvantage. Additionally, it's not until Volcarona reaches level 70 that it'll learn Bug Buzz.
Sometimes in these dilemmas, you need to resort to Black City or White Forest if you want to level up your high leveled Pokemon, since those areas can have Pokemon up to level 80 when you reach the 10th area.
And like what GalacticPetey said, the Pokemon Breeders at the White Treehollow always use the Happiny family, with Blissey offering the most experience points of the bunch. And the fact that the Blisseys are owned by a trainer, you'll get way more experience points from them than from a wild Audino.
Remember, the new formula is ONLY good for low leveled Pokemon. Once your Pokemon's level gets too high, the formula turns into a liability.
