What the green stars?

Yeah they're freaking terrible

It did feel like arbitrary extension of the game. I gave up on collecting them after a while.

I hated the ones where you had to take leaps of faith and hope you don't miss or else you die

Re: Mario Kart 8

I was more willing to go through Galaxy as Luigi again then go collect all the green stars. And believe me, super luigi galaxy was padding in the worst of ways.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Especially considering collecting green stars was like this, 120 times:

"BEEEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEEP THERE'S A MOTHER---G GREEN STAR IN THIS LEVEL, COLLECT IT!"

every. SINGLE. DAMN. TIME. you go select a misison with a green star on it

that alarm was ---ing obnoxious

That Rock Mario one... *shudders at the memory*

I got them all eventually though. The Perfect Run, on the other hand...

Re: Mario Kart 8

I actually had more fun getting gold flags in 3D world then I did getting green stars.

I still don't have the DLC for MK8...
Why not? Six characters, 16 tracks, 8 kart bodies, Yoshi and Shy Guy colors. All for a low price when bought together.

I still don't have enough money to buy it. I wanted SSB4 and ORAS more so I bought them now I"m broke still. And it's not like there's a whole lot of jobs for teenagers my age.

Why? I get not liking metal characters (you racist) but in what way is less characters better?

They could have worked well as alternate costumes, like the ones Yoshi and Shy Guy have. Having them as separate characters is just stupid in my opinion. Yes, yes, I know they have different voices and different stats and all, but all that could have easily been ignored. For example, all the Yoshis have different stats in Mario Super Sluggers, yet in Mario Kart 8 they're all the same, as it should be.
Changing a Yoshi's color won't make it weigh heavier. Being made out of metal would. No, it couldn't be ignored. You're telling me metal can just magically weigh the same as flesh and bone? bullshit

>Implying Mario games follow physics laws and have any sort of logic.

Re: Mario Kart 8

You guys are missing the point: the recolors in Superstar Baseball and Super Sluggers had minute differences. Now, Anser's logic is flawed by assuming that someone like Metal Mario should be in the same weight class as Mario because he's a "recolor". This argument would've worked for Fire Mario, Bee Mario, Cloud Mario, Penguin Mario, Flying Mario, Invisible Mario, but not so much for Metal Mario because Metal Mario's weight is emphasized here.

Re: Mario Kart 8

The recolors in the baseball games having different stats makes sense because they have different physical abilities, while having the same stats in MK8 because when they're driving that doesn't matter as much as it's based on the vehicle. (except for character bonuses? how does the person who's driving get the thing to have a stronger mini-turbo)

But of course Metal Mario is made of metal so he'd be much denser than Mario.

technically, Waluigi and Rosalina should travel faster than, say, Bowser because they have considerably less weight

But you know, Mario logic.

oh sorry youre right mario games have no logic whatsoever

lets replace the karts with pickle jars because no logic
lets have mario turn into a telephone mid-level because no logic
lets have those plastic singing fish rain down from the sky but instead of hurting mario it just turns him orange because no fucking logic

Rosalina and Waluigi shouldn't even be in the same weight group as Donkey Kong and Roy Koopa. They're tall, but too thin to be true heavyweights after all.

Mock me as much as you want, but in a game where people can shoot fireballs underwater, can be underwater as much as they want without drowning, where mushrooms and turtles can speak, and many other nonsensical things, yeah, Mario games are an awful place to look if you're searching for logic. I defend my stance.
