Tanooki is just a dumb-downed version of the Cat Suit.

Cat Suit is the better power-up, it's amazing how much my opinion about it changed after using it.

The Cat Suit helps scaling heights and conquering long distances; for example, I actually dived from one part of Super Bell Hill to the other without the cannon pipe with the cat suit. The Tanooki Suit helps me with platforming.

But in seriousness, I normally use a Cat Suit, and keep a Tanooki Suit with me.

I see. I guess the reason that I've brought this up is because of the Tanooki Suit's ability to slow down your descent. That has to help with your landing accuracy for certain courses.

True, my first death was because I cat dived off a cliff, with the Tanooki I probably would've been able to react quick enough and change direction and if not I'd probably get it close to the wall so I could wall jump up

I got a little behind. Because Christmas Picture and such. Now in World Mushroom.

The problem with this game (and platformers in general) is that it's not very replayable at all. There's only so much times you can replay the levels in one sitting before you get tired of it. I haven't touched 3D World since nearly a month ago.

Played this game for the first time today. Up to the end of World 2. It's pretty good so far despite being very easy.

First 2 worlds were pretty easy, but some of the later world may end up giving you a pretty hard time.

Please no galaxy, or I'm not buying it. Wouldn't mind something similar to the classic Super Mario 64, a Sunshine sequel, or something entirely new.

Yeah, Super Mario Galaxy disappointed me. Super Mario Sunshine was better. Especially the voice acting.

Easy, huh? Reach World 8-7. Not easy anymore starting with that level.

I've often wondered what it would've been like if Yoshi was also playable in this game. Maybe he'd rival the Blue Toad in speed, but have average jumping; he'd basically be Luigi's polar opposite, in terms of statistics. And along with the Flutter Jump, Yoshi can use his tongue to attack most enemies; for some examples, the tongue attack can be used to grab Bob-ombs, and push back Bullies.

However, Yoshi would be flawed in that he can't use his tongue attack while wielding a power-up (much like how Rosalina can't Star Spin while she's wielding a power-up), and he can't perform more than one Flutter Jump while in the air. But if Yoshi jumps on an enemy after Flutter Jumping, he can perform another Flutter Jump.

I even did up some stamps that follow the artwork style of the other stamps...
