Infinite 1-up Trick that exists at Koopa Troopa Cave.
Wow, thanks for pointing that out. Gonna make use of it.

I'm still debating getting this... it'll probably be either this or Donkey Kong Country TF. Now that it's after Christmas, can I get some more opinions from other people on how this shapes up?

I think you should get 3D World. The level design is fantastic for the most part, multiplayer is pretty good (still have to iron a few kinks out), but if you prefer 2D sidescrollers and more variety in playable character abilities, get Tropical Freeze.

there's not really much variety of playable characters in tropical freeze unless you're going to be player 2 lol

I did the 1-up trick in a different part of the level than demonstrated. Makes me believe it's possible in any level with a Koopa shell and walls. Although I could very well be wrong.

You could do this anywhere, however, it is the easiest to do so at the Koopa Caves

I think you can do it in 5-1 as well, but there's a larger margin for error there.

I finally got this game on my own! It's AMAZING! Four-player gameplay is crazy, but really fun. I like how you have to co-operate with others but at the same time it's always a competition. This is the reason why my sisters always end up fighting. X')

One thing that amuses me is that there are some levels that are almost impossible to beat with four people playing. They must be played in solo. I also like how you need to use a specific character to get some Green Stars or Stamps, so you have to use them all.

I'm on World 6 right now. Can't wait until I unlock Rosalina.

This is a great game. It has really unique features, and the fact that Mario TURNS INTO A CAT (just clarifying, PETA, that it is not a cat suit.) is a really nice touch. And there were so many unique bosses. Also, the clear pipes were a great feature that I hope return in future games.

Tanooki Suits are in this game btw

she's not that good

Rosalina may not be all that fast, but she does jump quite high. Also, if Rosalina doesn't have a power-up, she can perform the Star Spin to attack enemies, which comes in handy when dealing with the underwater enemies.

On an additional note, the Star Spin does give Rosalina some additional height, which can make it easier for her to reach the top of the goal flagpole.

She's also great on some levels where you need to basically stay in the air longer. For example, those spike logs that roll; definitely want to avoid those while doing the star spin in case you're about to land on one.

I feel like if Rosalina gets a Power-Up though she becomes nerfed and is basically an inferior version of Peach. =P

Also, I don't remember if I said my experience of it from a while ago, but I freaking loved my experiences. My friends and I got from World 2 to 5, and I went Luigi, my best friend Guard went Mario, and my friend Jenny went Peach.

Jenny was always falling behind though... She's not exactly a Nintendo fan on our level.

We tried World 2-3 first (that's Puffprod Peaks right?). I had the Gamepad though, and it was kind of annoying boarding the platforms after touching them with the Gamepad screen. But I got used to it. Also I would just be laughing from the great time we were having and so my laughter activated the mic and made those fan platforms move. Which made my friends fall and I was just laughing even harder.

Another memorable level for me was was Switchboard Falls (I didn't remember the course names at the time though and plus they were in French but I've been watching a playthrough of it and I remember the level designs :p). At one point... We ran out of lives near the end of the level and it was so hectic dodging those rollers... Then I end up falling.

And in one Castle I had the Cannon Block, and I still had it after killing the koopa like Boom Boom (the one that's like a Ninja and splits into multiple clones).
Well, I asked my friend Guard if it was possible to get rid of it. He told me had a solution... WHICH WAS TRYING TO THROW ME OFF THE CLIFF AND "I'M LIKE WAIT A SECOND". Oh my god I was just dying of laughter... XD

For some reason though I kept confusing if the characters had a Cat power up or a Tanooki power up. :p

A few complaints though...

- Sharing lives. I prefer having individual lives cause it's very easy to be dragged down by a less skilled player.

- The running button is ALSO the carrying button. I've accidentally picked up my friend more times than I could count and my friends unintentionally did the same to me. It also sucks on the levels like the Carnival one where you're in the moving platform; you either die from jumping off while being carried, or your friend will throw you off. This is the bigger issue for me. :/

Regardless, I had such an amazing time playing it with my friends at the mall and I can't wait to get a Wii U and this game! :D

she's not that good

Well, I already unlocked her and I highly disagree. I can go as far as saying that she's the best character out of the five. Yes, she's slow, but she sprints the soonest, she jumps as high as Luigi and her Spin Jump is definitely useful. Too bad I find myself avoiding all the power-ups in order to keep her ability.

Man, WTF? Grumblump Inferno was IMPOSSIBLE. I mean, not literally, but it was ridiculously hard. I got around four or five Game Overs. I don't know how, but I managed to get all three Green Stars, but not the Stamp. I did see it, but I was not going to risk my life for a 50th+ time for that.

Or maybe it's just that I suck...?

Grumblump Inferno was easy for me. It got easier when I realised I could run over the sides while it was flipping.

The funny thing about this is that I've often spent more time with power-ups than without them. In most cases, it's only when a course has a Mega Mushroom that I'd have to avoid using power-ups.

Does anyone know, what (spoilers to those who haven't 100% the game)
star-1, Rainbow Run, second green star is a reference to? I'm sure it is a reference to something, since it plays a special jingle when you have filled in all the tiles. And the tiles themself are displaying an 8-bit figure, that I don't know. It's like the third green star in 5-5, Bob-ombs Below, which had an 8-bit Mario. There is also the music that plays in the bonus room. It sounds like a different version of the 8-bit Mario room (I actually like the different version more).

It's a reference to Link from The Legend of Zelda for NES.

The reference was pretty awesome but I figured out before I knew there was a hidden block containing a fire flower >_>

It's just like the reference in Super Mario 3D Land, where in (spoilers to those who haven't 100% the game)
level 5-2 the second star medal also plays a special jingle, but it is a different one, than 3D World's.

That's great too. The level is even in that style as well.
