Off-topic but I had a dream last night. It was April 1st, and Sakurai had a new character update.

There was even text saying "One of the 6 (I assume that means it included Shiek) beloved Melee veterans have returned!"

Ya know what the character was?

Eh, that's too evil. Even if Ridley will really not be playable. An April Fools joke for Smash Bros. or any fighting game should be something that would make people angry if they were actually playable. Dr. Mario and/or Pichu would be a perfect example.

I wouldn't mind him... as long as he's an Alt. Costume and not a seperate character like in Melee

I know the reason why they had characters like Pichu and Dr. Mario. Melee had a very short development time, and Sakurai thought he'd beef up the roster because of you remove all the clones sans Luigi you have only 19-20 characters instead of the 25 we got. That doesn't mean I can't dislike some of the decisions they did with Clones however.

no, i've seen several people who'd like to see him return. more than pichu and young link at least

personally i didn't like his inclusion to begin with so i'll pass, but i'm all for an alternate costume

That would be a horrible choice. While Dr. Mario was a better fighter in Melee, he has no place in Smash. An alternate costume would be cool, you could also incorporate Doc's strengths in Melee into Mario's moveset to make a better fighter. This is what Project M did.

No offense, but I have the feeling you only want him in because he's a Mario character, and those seem to be the only characters you play as.

That would be a horrible choice. While Dr. Mario was a better fighter in Melee, he has no place in Smash. An alternate costume would be cool, you could also incorporate Doc's strengths in Melee into Mario's moveset to make a better fighter. This is what Project M did.

I wonder how the fighting will work here...will it just be on top of the tower or will it be like Delfino Plaza/Skyloft?

I'm almost positive we will see Pokemon Stadium 3. That will probably be on both versions. If that's the case, the Wii U version will have its own exclusive Pokemon stage.

Also, Lumiose City? Really? I can't really imagine what clever things they could do with Lumiose City to make it interesting. With Spear Pillar, there was at least the laser beams blowing up half the level to spice things up.

The best thing I can imagine they could do with the stage is that if you KO someone while in Lumiose Boutique you unlock a free costume change or something.
