Oh and on the "leak" earlier that was talked about yesterday while I was gone. I'm pretty sure it's fake, 4chan origin plus the rather cocky attitudes from the leakers really make me think this is just a troll move.

Also seriously? Dr. Mario & Dark Pit? The worst inclusion in the entire Smash series as well as Kid Icarus's Shadow the Hedgehog? Give me a break. While I wouldn't say this would make the newcomer pool worse them Melee's (Cause we still did get enough good and decent Newcomers). Even just the Original 12 would look far and away better. There's other tiny things that make me think it's more fake as well (And some of you guys even noted). But I am definitely taking that leak with a huge grain of salt right now.

I'd actually argue Dr. Mario is worse because Pichu at least kinda made sense since they needed something to represent Generation 2. But as a 5th Mario character, and when you already had a character in the game similar to Mario (Luigi, Just because he was of course Luigified doesn't mean he couldn't count as Mario's "clone"), not to mention the only major differences were pretty cosmetic. I know that Dr. Mario proved to be better competitive-play wise. But most aren't going to know that, and even so I would of rather Dr. Mario's good properties just get fused with Mario's and have and even 24 characters.

At least Pichu had a gimmick all there own as well (Electrical attacks hurt itself). A bad one, but one nonetheless. I don't think you play Dr. Mario all that different from regular Mario in most cases. He just feels more useless. And it should be handled more like Project M where it just changes the costume and the fireball. If the Project M devs could do that with Dr. Mario, I don't see why Sakurai couldn't.

I do like the Dr. Mario games (If I have nothing to do, I sometimes like to play the Dr. Wario minigame on my 3DS' on WarioWare which is basically the same game). But I don't think they really needed to be represented in the roster. That said if Dr. Mario is returning I might be lenient if Sakurai actually tried to do something more to differentiate him from Mario then he did in Melee. It still wouldn't change my thoughts on him being the worst inclusion overall. But it'd make it a tad more tolerable.

That is not how you spell Pokemon Trainer. Seriously, 3 Character concepts that should have been made into separate playable characters being forced down into the game together as a transformative character.

You can switch out without fear of stamina, the game doesn't force you to switch, and there's no stamina at all.

I though Project M removed Character trasformations and gave Zelda, Sheik, Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard their own Down Bs and the latter 3 their own Final Smashes and removed their stamina gimmick.

I wouldn't even consider Pokemon Trainer a playable character, he does nothing, the 3 of them do all the fighting.

I thought the way they did Pokemon Trainer was clever. Even if it wasn't the best idea to have the stamina thing making you have to switch between them if you only had one character of the three you were really good with.

I don't think that makes them worse then Roy, Pichu, or Dr. Mario though. Pokemon Trainer deserved that spot being the true protagonist of the Pokemon games. It's only because Smash 4 decided to get rid of transformations mid-battle that Pokemon Trainer is gone. Because otherwise I think he'd be a shoe-in.

In Uprising, Dark Pit is literally a clone of Pit. Through (early) shenanigans, Pit manages to create an evil version* of himself and that's basically the gist of it. Still better than Dr. Mario which is basically Mario in a lab coat, but they're both crap choices for new characters, especially because I don't think Kid Icarus deserves three reps.

Also to be honest. I don't get why making characters with actual movesets like Ice Climbers and Snake DLC but characters like Dr. Mario and Dark Pit are there in-game already. I would think that they would be the DLC instead of the other way around... (And probably the far better option, those who don't want Dr. Mario or Dark Pit could choose not to get the DLC. Those who wouldn't mind them can get them.)
