Miis are by far the most likely Newcomer yet to be revealed. I don't care if they get in or not really.

what if, in the wii u version, wuhu island or whatever is in the background of the pilotwings stage

and, in the 3ds version, the pilotwings stage is in the background of the wuhu island stage



i mean, considering pilotwings resort and mario kart 7 included the island, it'd kinda make sense for it to be in the 3ds version.

Unlikely. If we're getting any new Mario characters at all it's going to be Toad, Bowser Jr., Paper Mario or Waluigi

Paper Mario's your best best for an RPG representative.

Yeah, this. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Fawful get in, but there's just too many characters ahead of him. Paper Mario would satisfy me for this game, as would Waluigi. I'm neutral on Bowser Jr. and Toad, but of those I'd pick Bowser Jr., I just can't see Toad beating up Mario, Link and Pikachu. Fawful has more of a shot at an exclusively-Mario spinoff before he gets in to a multi-franchise one. but good Lord would I be happy if I'm proven wrong here.

If Characters being announced in advertisement to their game releasing is still the thing. Peach will probably be up in December when Super Mario 3D World releases. Though even then that may or may not confirm if Toad is still in her moveset.

And if it the Toad is still the Red Toad we see get pulled out in Melee and Brawl. Then I'm pretty sure that deconfirms him. However there is the chance instead that the Blue or Yellow toads from NSMB could there be instead. If they are, speculation about the original Red toad being a Newcomer could be at it's highest point.

Ganondorf -Because of Wind Waker HD

Jigglypuff -One of the Original 12

Mewtwo -Because of X and Y

Captain Falcon -One of the original 12

Zelda -Because of A Link Between Worlds

Ice Climbers -Already mentioned by Sakurai

Marth -On Sakurai's whiteboard

Diddy Kong -Because of Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze

Wario -On Sakurai's whiteboard

Peach -Because of Super Mario 3D World

Meta Knight -On Sakurai's whiteboard

Yoshi -One of the original 12 and has two games coming out

Mr. Game & Watch - On Sakurai's whiteboard

Sonic Lost World, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games 4, a future Nintendo exclusive Sonic game yet to be announced. Sega and Nintendo's partnership getting stronger year-after-year. And Sonic's pretty much the most popular addition to Smash Bros. in the franchise's history

Bowser has an infinite number of clones, called Bowser Jrs. When Bowser dies, the current Bowser Jr grows up to become Bowser and the next Bowser Jr is released from its tube.
