Nothing about Ridley, though at least its confirmed we'll have Villager and WFT on the 3DS.

It's already confirmed that Wii U and 3DS versions will have the same characters.

Oh yeah, that's right :P.

I can't really see Ridley being a playable character; he's too big. I've seen a Ridley Texture for Charizard (who is already a rather big and heavy character), and Ridley being shrunk down looks pretty bad to me.

Now, before someone brings up the "but Bowser was big, they managed to shrink him down" argument, Bowser doesn't have a consistent size in the games, and anytime he's gigantic is because of magic or something. Without magic (or whatever else increases his size), he's usually about twice as tall as Mario, so it works out.

Besides, Bowser has been the biggest target out of all the characters in Melee and Brawl, and having another character break that trait would be rather awkward to me. =P

And before someone mentions Giga Bowser too for being playable, that's an alternate form, that requires an item to transform into a gigantic wrecking machine, but you'll be spending the majority of your time as normal Bowser, so... yeah. =P

A gigantic character like Ridley should just be a stage hazard, or a boss again. Or just be part of the stage background or whatever, but I can't see him being a playable character.

^Just my 2 cents on this.

Can't they make a Metroid stage that doesn't have boiling lava or acid.
The 3DS version will have a Metroid Fusion stage. It'll be Sector 3.

i'm pretty sure they can make a good shrunken version of Ridley if they wanted to, so there's really no real rock solid reason why he can't be playable because of his size

I'm still really hoping that he's playable. If he's a mere stage hazard, I'll be a bit disappointed, though it won't be the end of the world or anything.

I'm ok whether he's playable or not. I just don't care. He would be cool, but at the same time, if he's not playable, I won't even be bothered. I think he's giant anyway. He should stay a boss.

That's not a texture. :/ And besides, this would be a better Ridley:

so apparently, EVERYONE missed the daily screenshot, cause...IT'S PRETTY DAMN IMPORTANT

Well, I suppose that image and this:

If Olimar isn't too small, then Ridley isn't too big. If they can put H. Queen playable in Mario Kart 7, if they can put Wizpig playable in Diddy Kong Racing DS, then they can put Ridley playable in Super Smash Bros. 4.

Has made me get out of the "Ridley is too big to be playable" mentality now. In the end though, I don't really care if he does turn out to be playable or not. =P

I don't care either, but I like seeing fans happy.

There's a rumor out there that Zero Suit Samus' will be shown on the 27th this month. While there's been a bunch of rumors already. This one seems odd in that it actually gave an exact date. And the person is putting their credibility on the line with only a few days until then.

I won't say anything more about it. Because it will be pointless to discuss it if Zero Suit Samus doesn't show up on the 27th anyway. But if turns out true, then the person gave a few more exact dates for returning veterans being shown. Along with one newcomer in September.

On a side note, I notice how people worry about the 3DS limiting the roster of the Wii U version.

Considering the 3DS max file size is almost as big as the maxinum for a Wii game. As long as Sakurai fills as much as he can into both the Wii U and the 3DS games there will be tons to look forward to. The biggest a 3DS game can go is 8 Gigabytes. The largest a Wii game is 8.5

Brawl's filesize was 7.92 Gigabytes. Meaning it could just barely squeeze right into a 3DS cartridge. But what this should mean, is that the 3DS version could still have quite a bit of content still. And remember that it was the SSE and Music that filled up most of the space. And there being news of no such mode like the SSE being in SSB4, there should be plenty of room. Imagine Brawl without the inhibitor of the SSE and I imagine some compressed Music files to fit a handheld, and you could possibly have more characters in the roster along with more content.

Now moving on over to the Wii U version. It has 25 GB of space. You could fit Brawl 3 times over then. Meaning we could be in for alot in the Wii U version. So now I think about it, it's quite plausible for both versions to still have 40 characters or more while not trespassing on things regarding the roster. The Wii U would obviously have the majority of the content. 25 GB is alot especially regarding Smash filesize history. It's 25x the size of Melee, and 3x the size of Brawl. That alone should be very interesting down the road.

If they're making an even more compressed version of .thp files we have to worry about file size even less

ah, ah, ah

a single layer disc has 25GB of space

however a dual layer disc has 50GB of space (assuming they'll ever make a game with over 50GB)

we haven't had a new daily picture in quite a while

maybe they're about to reveal something big? idk

To be honest, just make 3DS and Wii U version have the same characters, but let the Wii U version have a SSE like mode that is even bigger than SSE.

Or have the hugest trophy, sticker, other neat Nintendo extras collection ever. Perhaps a more expansive Stage Builder. Capability of replays longer then 3 minutes. A soundtrack that makes Brawl's already massive soundtrack look small. And more surprises in store.

And it's practically already confirmed that the Wii U version won't have such a mode. It will be more focused on Multiplayer aspects. So I imagine it will have more of the content that's fun for all players. But not necessarily meaning it won't have anything for a single player to do. Like I'm sure the Classic and All-Star modes are a given. The 3DS version will be more geared to the single player.

They don't put up pictures on Weekends.

Eh I personally prefer if they didn't waste space on putting a stage builder, it never appealed to me and in the end the stages were bland anyways. =P

However, I would like replays to be improved, as in:

- Longer than 3 mins (I know there's a code for ignore this but it's still dumb).

- Name Tags being saved (should've been there in the first place), and plus you actually know who's playing.

- Ability to give replays a Title and group certain replays together like putting them in a folder or something lol (would make things more organized)

- Ability to go to a certain time of a replay

And maybe have the replay file as a MP4 file or something like that? In Brawl, replay files were basically saved inputs and it tells the game how to replay the button inputs again. Which is also the reason why sometimes replays don't show what you remember. =P

Can there please be an option to enable/disable items in the single-player modes (except in Event match, if the event revolves around said items) so we don't get screwed by an unlucky Bob-Omb spawning right next you? :P

Speaking of event match, I'm really hoping they improve on that from Brawl. Brawl's events were more annoying than fun IMO (especially the last one, that giant Mario is more bullshit than anything else >__>). I'd also like to see some events where the stage is exclusive to said event, like Melee did with those trophy matches. =P
