It would be an awesome stage, especially if the stage was programmed to where a Miiverse post appears in the background.

I mean, it would be an actual post that someone does, and it cycles through them. I think it would be really inventive of Nintendo to do that, plus it would be cool to be seen on other's Wii U's posting your stuff.

Does this mean character costumes or is this just Wii Fit Trainer exclusive? I guess it's appropriate to reveal alternate costumes on Halloween and the trial of Wii Fit U.
 
Whoa. I hope this means other characters get alt costumes. This could mean things like Dr. Mario, Outset Toon Link, Dry bowser, etc.

It's probably just for Wii Fit Trainer though.

I can see us getting more alternate costumes. Though I suppose it's strange since I would think this would mean there's even separate voice clips for alternate costumes now. Unless they give the default Women voice to the male alternate costume. xD
 
Cool. I'll probably use the female when playing as her regardless but it's still a good idea.

I'd like Mario to have Dr. Mario as an alternate costume, personally.
 
While we're at it why don't we imagine if every confirmed character as of now had a alternate costume?

Pit: Dark Pit
Bowser: Dry Bowser
Pikachu: Raichu? Shiny Pikachu?
Fox: Assault Costume
Kirby: I got nothing xP The Multiple Kirby colors are already there
Samus: Metroid Prime and/or Super Metroid suits
Link: Ocarina of Time Link?
DK: Funky Kong
Mario: Dr. Mario
Mega Man: X?
Villager: Female Villager
Olimar: Louie and/or any of the new Pikmin 3 characters
Luigi: Mr. L I guess?
Peach: Daisy and/or Rosalina (As in more then just color swap)
Toon Link: Recolored to look like classic link. The Link from games like A Link to the Past
Sonic: Classic Sonic and/or Metal Sonic and/or Shadow recolors

Not saying all of these will happen. As in Brawl we only got Wario, it could be limited to only a few characters. But of the confirmed characters we know are in the game so far. I would find these as possible alternate costumes. Even if some are alot more likely then others. Especially stuff like X and Classic Sonic that would probably require having entirely new hitboxes just for alts, and I don't see them doing that.
 
Oh haha, I completely forgot about Proto Man. I'm sure you'd be ecstatic if that actually ended up being an Alt. Costume for Mega Man xD

Also it's nice to have something to talk about in this thread again. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see female Villager somewhere down the line. Classic Sonic would be a good alt skin and since they're playing up Samus' acrobatic side in this, the Fusion Suit would be a good choice.

I'd also say this bodes well for other gender-neutral characters like Robin.
 
I think the most logical thing would be switching between the male and the female Wii Fit Trainer on the character selection screen, like you can choose between starting a fight with either Zelda, Sheik, Charizard, Squirtle or Ivysaur.

You won't be able to switch in battle for obvious reasons.
 
Man it was completely possible to make alternate costumes in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I wonder why they haven't took advantage of that? I guess that would mean extra development time but then Wario is too special (of course).
 
i'd be extremely happy if Dark Bowser appeared as an alternate Bowser costume

granted it won't happen but i can dream
 
Maybe Mario can get Dr. Mario this time. ^^
