also i agree with the others that he deserved to come back even though i wouldn't have missed him as much as others (though i think he's a better fighter than regular link)

They kept Toon Link because I believe Sakurai likes having two links, one adult, one a kid. Which is why Young Link appeared at all in Melee. Toon Link offers a younger link, that's still from a different timeline from regular Link so that you can represent a bigger spread of the franchise rather then only one game. (Both Young Link, and Normal Link in Melee were tributes to Ocarina of Time).

Also I dare anyone try to find one character in Brawl that doesn't have a decent sized fanbase or support for their return. I believe there's literally no one from Brawl whose cut would be as well recieved as say Pichu's or Dr. Mario's. Heck, I think my "Characters you would miss the most" thread proves it.

I'd prefer they change his moveset than replace him. That's like saying Dork should be replaced with a character with a better moveset

He was still better than Young Link in Melee. He was a complete cline, unlike Toon Link.

toon link isn't even a clone in a brawl, in fact there are no actual clones in brawl, just semi-clones.

How is he not a clone. They have the same moves. He's only a bit faster and more agile.

nsm: toon link has a different up smash, neutral aerial, forward aerial, back aerial, forward throw, back throw, his down aerial functions differently. his forward smash is more of a multi-hit move while link's has high power on both hits, same with the down smash. toon link's down tilt also hits opponents in a different direction. in addition, toon link's arrow and boomerang have different aesthetics and properties; his arrow travels much slower while hitting vertically, and his boomerang doesn't have the tornado and wind effects. toon link's grounded spin attack also can't be charged and traps the opponent so the final blow hits them, rather than all hits being able to knock the opponent away powerfully. lastly, their psychics are completely different.

so in other words, he's a semi-clone

I don't know what to think of Toon Link... In one way I like his presence in the game, because he's a major character and I enjoy playing as him, but in another way I hate him, because he's a clone bacically.
