Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this topic supposed to be for character that are confirmed to RETURN? I.E., not about newcomers to the series?

Her look seems to be a combination of her Twilight Princess look and Ocarina of Time look. I like that; it's nice to have a non-specific look for all The Legend of Zelda characters. Also, this:

It looks like a shout-out to Spirit Tracks, which is cool, I guess.
 
Zelda's return wasn't a surprise to me, but I'm still very glad she's returning. She's one of my mains
 
No surprise, but I don't really care. I rarely, if at all, use Zelda and if I do I usually just transform into Sheik
 
It seems that Nintendo decided not to reuse the SSB2 or Skyward Sword version. It seems that the TP version would be Zelda's official appearace (though ironcally she wasn't the actual leading heroine in that game.

AWESOME! King Dedede was my favorite character (also my main) in Super Smash Bros. Brawl! I kind of knew he'd come back, but it's great to see him confirmed all the same! I must say, since I play as him a lot, I definitely notice a a lot of subtle differences between his look here and his look in Brawl. The most noticeable detail, for me anyway, is that his eye pupils are smaller. He definitely seemed a lot more cutesy last time. Neither a good thing or a bad thing, but it's the most immediate thing I noticed. The second thing I noticed, looking at a lot of his screenshots, is that he's a lot more cartoony and expressive this time around. While fighting in Brawl, King Dedede didn't have that many expressions; I wouldn't necessarily call him dead-eyed, since he DID have a few expressions, but there weren't that many. Here, there seems to be a greater assortment of looks for him, and, perhaps it's just me speaking, but you definitely get a better feel for his personality here. This might also tie in with his smaller pupils; while people say bigger eyes means more expressive features, King Dedede's eyes remain the same size, but his pupils are smaller, probably to have a better range, or have it be more noticeable when he looks at something... Speaking of eyes, notice that screenshot where King Dedede's all dizzy. He looks like he does when he's possessed by Dark Matter in the Kirby games! So they made room for more shout-outs to his series (incidentally, Masahiro Sakurai, creator of the Super Smash Bros. series and director of this game, created Kirby, and by extention, King Dedede).

Another thing I'm curious about is how he'll play in this game. He was my main in the last game, and as such, I pretty much know him inside and out. One thing I know is that he has one of the most powerful moves int he game; his forward Smash attack. It has a lot of lag, but when it hits, it's almost guaranteed to KO someone! In fact, that sums up a lot of his moves, lots of lag but powerful when it connects. I wonder if Sakurai will be changing any of that... I'll still play as him regardless, and it looks like his moveset hasn't changed much, but I am curious if he'll be any different this time around...

Lastly, I just want to say, I'm glad King Dedede got confirmed before Meta Knight. I find Meta Knight to be kind of overrated, plus King Dedede has been in every Kirby game (save Kirby and the Amazing Mirror), so I think he really deserved a spot on the Smash Bros. roster before Meta Knight. I mean, I like Meta Knight, he's cool and all, but I think Nintendo overuses him in more recent Kirby games.

Jigglypuff's the only character some think (Or at least hope that is, I personally think it's not a good idea to cut her after all this time though) could be cut out of the Original 12.

Yoshi being cut would only happen in the weirdest of parallel universes.

Ness has been on the possible cut list TWICE but still managed to stay anyway. I don't think he's going to be missing from this one suddenly.

and Sakurai I believe mentioned the Falcon Punch in a recent article. So he may as well been unofficially confirmed. Even if it's quite obvious they would never let go of the character Smash Bros. has essentially made a cult favorite.
 
I don't think Jigglypuff will be cut.

A. They're still huge in Japan.
B. With the addition of Fairy type, Jigglypuff and several other Pokémon are now relevant again.

but i'm still really, really, really happy he's back

edit: well actually, i did kind of think we'd get a random reveal before the month ended

i just didn't think it would be lucario

Not sure it's a good move if Nintendo have mentioned "they have no time to make all previous characters return", but if Lucario would be a showcase of "Mega Evolution", it's the only reason why he should return (but the Trainer team could be a better showcase.
 
considering that mewtwo is more wanted that literally every single possible newcomer it'd be a stupid move not to bring him back
 
GOD-FUCKING-DAMMIT. AHHH I'm so angry. IF MEWTWO DOESN'T COME BACK... I won't mind Lucario's return AS LONG AS Mewtwo returns too.

Yes, but everytime I see this thread gets new posts, it means someone new is being revealed, and I am aware that the roster is something I won't be able to escape from :( Plus, I had the hope it was either a newcomer or my main, Lucas.

But no, it was Lucario :C My anger about his return will stop when Mewtwo gets revealed.









... Because he WILL return, right?
 
I'm not a Mewtwo fan, I thought he was terrible in Melee, but I understand why people want him back (I think)
